Jigsaw, what is this 'title' you speak of?

May MCCC-The Rise Of An Order

My entry into the May MCCC, linked above, fitted into the background of going in the mccc, and including background from those sources. Jigsaw, The Remains Bio Origin Ahimoth doesn’t just represent obliteration of everything in a physical sense. It sows discord, creeps into the fettered minds of turmoil and provokes conflict a hundred fold. During the fall of the league, the summoners had lots of strife between themselves. Battles were fought between champions, and sometimes champions did not resurrect. Some didn’t mind, as rivalries could be settled for good. All across Runeterra, conflicts erupted as the bastion of peace crumbled under it’s own madness. No more would the shotgun be shooting at blank cards. Most rivalries would be settled outside of the summoners institute, as the system broke down without real casualties determined on their fore. The broken and the wanderer settled their scores on the now desecrated platform, long after the coliseum was abandoned and alone. The broken, broken on the ground. The wanderer, to wander purposeless forever. And after it’s last duel, the coliseum’s magic sundered entirely, forevermore lifeless. But Ahimoth would not let them off so easily. In every heart there is hatred. In every death there is regret. In a moment, these fade, and the soul passes on. In a minute, doubts of holding back because of self-imposed guilt sink in. In an hour, the gnashing jaws of decomposition wash away all memories, and the singular minute of finality hones a defiance against the moment of death. In a day, there is nothing left but pure drive, to fix what is broken, and let death itself be damned. In the week that follows, a scourge spreads across the land. Nations go to war, borders become ill protected and defined. A nameless force travels across the land, an ill omen for an apocalyptic eclipse. The force awakens one day to find herself inside a shrine, knelt at the side of half of a bloodied man. Is this man important? What had she done, where was she from? Was she a newborn, or an ancient? Why did she care so much, so suddenly, were any of these things important? Visions mixed with reality mixed with the past weeks and months and years, information just kept flooding in, too fast to process. The beast looks at herself. A golem without a purpose, anymore. Without a name, without true memories, without drive. “Well… let’s go to Ionia. I’ll find a new purpose there.” So began, or continued, Jigsaw, taken apart and put together enough times that the whole has long since stopped reflecting the parts. To cast aside all these strings on her heart and find a new road. “Original Character, Do Not Steal.” ~Rammus Ninety Nine Bones, Up On The Wall “I… need a purpose. … no, I don’t need one. I seek one, for fulfillment. I am nobody’s golem, and I shall do as I must.” Jigsaw spoke aloud, reciting her thoughts and working through a purpose to be. Eos stood before her, his sword in the ground, raising a hand over to the wall. “Yeah that’s… got nothing to do with this. You even here? I’m a little un-” “Yes. I am present.” Jigsaw stated with a smile, stretching the bones of both her sword and ribs as if they were limbs or whiskers in limber. “And you said earlier there were doubts, but I am hardly the weirdest champion you have here. I have seen the others put to this test.” Eos tried to retort, but was only met with “Now, bring on the men.” And then they came, fast, six at a time. Wasn’t any way more than that’d even fit at once. Eos admired the swordsmanship of a lot of the folks he got to train, even if he was sometimes harsh on them. Not this. Whatever this was, it wasn’t… right. Like watching a monster from the void devouring the enemies, the saws sliced through the dummies. Some nicks got on Jigsaw, and Eos got a certain refreshing kick out of knowing the damage would accumulate. Bit by bit, the gladiator would buckle, and fall. Perhaps breaking through all of them in glorious combat, perhaps not. Except that as the second six rushed in, Eos found Jigsaw hopping up to the podium with him. “Got any snacks? I’m getting quite hungry.” “... ignoring the fact that I’m pretty sure as a undead whatever-you-are, that you can’t even eat, you’ve got a challenge to do.” The warrior dummys on the field were grasped at their ankles, bloody shrieks emanating from the dead bodies below, pulled into the maws of the newly risen comrades, in a raw slaughterfest. “I’ll let you know that I can, for damn sure, eat. I don’t need to, probably. But I like tasting things. Or at least want to know if I still can. Or just can, since, I guess I’m not even the same, person anymore? Though yeah, I’ll get back into the fray.” Jigsaw hopped back down to slice the head of a dummy clean off. “I didn’t get quite the snowball I thought I did, so I’ll just do this the reasonable way. By brutally rending every single creature, living or otherwise, until naught is left of this world but desolated wasteland.” “Woah. Okay, I definitely need to keep a grip on that. Anyway… time to finish killing the dummies, with my dry bones at my back, in generally the same manner as before.” And then Jigsaw killed the rest of the dummies, with moderate effort expended, in generally the same manner as those first dozen.

The Secret Challenge Against Rhino Dude Jigsaw approached the edges of the Shurima sands. It had been so long since… actually, Jigsaw wasn’t even sure she was in Shurima even while alive. She remembered the legends though, and some of… the denizens that fought in the league. What… is the league? Anyway.

Her troop of target dummies followed in the wake, with one last remark from Eos to the effect of “really? The target dummies? You coulda just asked for my help.” Jigsaw refused this. Eos was needed elsewhere, and this dozen soldiers would be legitimately more help than him in this fight anyway. Eos was not happy.

The fat rhino dude, as Jigsaw knew him, was gathering up void portals and energies for some nefarious purpose. What was his goal? Did this being have a name? Why was he in shurima sands, far away from other assistance? All questions answered by Eos without asking, and all answers whose relevance were questioned by Jigsaw. It was a void thing, that needed killing. Jigsaw was a revenant commander. She would do the killing.

Jigsaw led the charge to the beast, approaching with the melee dummies in a bloodbath that would wound the rhino. He raged, stomped, let out feral roars of indignation. Her quick movements and slashes wore at both combatants, and the dummies fell one by one. They bought her precious advantages during the skirmishes, of course.

The void monster didn’t feel like talking. Good, neither did she. They were both monsters clashing over some idyllic purpose, or maybe they both wanted absolute apocalypse. Jigsaw was still figuring that out, and was amused that she was contemplating such philosophy while in combat with the rhino. With a wave of her hand, the dummies stopped resting, and all at once rose to fight the war rhino.

His beastly eye surmised the resting Jigsaw, simply surveying her troops and giving minor directives. Jigsaw didn’t last long on this perch, the burst of speed knocked her butt clean into the air. The revenants were dying to his war stomps, everything below jigsaw’s torso was ripped off by the force that sent her upper half into the air, and now the rhino was calling in forces of his own through the portals.

Jigsaw was a literal sack of bones with a saw sticking out the end, and Gre’Vilash the void rhino backed off. “As you so attempted, now I shall feed you to the horde.” His job done, he backed up for the grand finishing stampede, while his minions waded into Jigsaw and turned their vicious rending claws onto Gre’Vilash.

The barbaric scene unfolded. Held down by his own minions, Jigsaw sliced her saw into the thick rhino’s hide a few times, slaughtering the void minions while they were distracted. The unrested hordes that rose a second time would be hers for good, and continued to pin the rhino down by the dozens. Which alerted Gre’Vilash to something astray, as he hadn’t CALLED for more than nine.

His roars extended to the zzrot portal jigsaw sat atop of, nudging it with provocations to reinforce, and butchering the minions into her own abominations. “Get back here, fight me, fight your battles!” The void beast roared, blood lust overwhelming, but dragged into the ground. He tried charging, multiple times, getting closer and closer. Charging his energies properly, bucking off all the undead void and making a desperate psionic doom rush.

… … ...

“Vishas, I won. Took a bit, in the end, it wasn’t so bad. I remember being a commander, in a past life. War isn’t about glory, or bashing heads, least not entirely. In the end, it comes down to what works, even if it’s boring or unsatisfying. I’ve got your rhino, he’s dead, though I think I’ll keep him. Everything has a purpose, after all.”

Jigsaw thought, closing her eyes, realizing she no longer had eyelids, and then tilting her head down to get a similar solemn thoughtful posture. “I just need to find mine.”

Stats Block HP 558-2020 HP/5 3.3-11.8 Melee: 125 AD: 56-107 AS: 0.625% (+0%-+59.5%) Armor: 24.4-78.8 MR: 32.1-53.4 Movespeed: 340

Abilities Passive: Unrest Fluff: Enemies that Jigsaw has a hand in killing resurrect and blindly rampage in her stead. Casting abilities breaks Jigsaw’s structure temporarily and give her stacks of Shambles. Mechanics: Any character that dies that has taken damage from Jigsaw or a unit with Unrest within the last 5 seconds will resurrect as a unit with Unrest. This unit operates under minion AI, blindly attacking nearby enemies in a general path towards the enemy nexus, just like a minion (immobile enemies such as Heimer Turrets or Baron will simply attack whatever is nearby, and cannot gain movespeed under any circumstances). These spawn create no gold on kill, have +50% damage vulnerability to champions, and decay at 1% of their max hp every second, with decay rate increasing by 1% max hp every 5 seconds. This decay rate is doubled while Jigsaw is dead. Jigsaw gains gold from last-hits Unrest units attain. Towers will not attack other buildings, Inhibitors and Nexus do not respawn at all. Unrest Minions do not get the benefits of Baron Buff. If multiple Jigsaws would gain an unrest from a neutral unit, the Unrest goes to the side that got the last-hit. Unrested units do not respawn as Unrest multiple times from different Jigsaws. (Alternatively, killing an unrest grants 1 gold, and killing a champion/tower/baron/dragon unrest grants 10 gold) Shambles Stacks:

  • 3% and - 2 flat Speed per stack.
  • 2% Total AD per stack. Every time Jigsaw casts an ability, she gains a stack of Shambles. If an ability is cast twice within a 3 second interval, it grants an additional stack of shambles. Stacks decay at a rate of 1 per 5/4.65/4.3/3.95/3.6 seconds (at levels 1/5/9/13/17). Stacks decay at twice the speed if Jigsaw has not cast a spell in the last 9 seconds. While dead or in fountain, these stacks take twice as long to decay. Being under the effect of Homeguards halts the decay entirely. Jigsaw can incur a maximum of 50 stacks at a given time, but penalties cap at 30 stacks, for maximum penalties of -90% and - 60 flat speed (usually lowering her to the bottom cap of 110 movespeed), and -60% total ad. Stacks apply 1 second after the ability is cast, thus the Total AD penalty does not apply to the ability that applies the stack, only to all those after. Q: Buzzard Fluff: Jigsaw bursts forward a short distance, slicing everything in her path with her chainsaw sword and speeding all allied units. Cooldown: 0.9/0.75/0.60/0.45/0.3 Cost: 4% Current Health Dash: 400 units Physical Damage: 80%/85%/90%/95%/100% Total AD Damage Radius: 300 range in all directions Speed Up: 30/40/50/60/70 Units Speed Up Duration: 4 seconds, unlimited for units resurrected with Unrest Speed Up Radius: 600 units Mechanic Notes: The dash always goes the full distance, over 0.1 seconds. This ability adds an extra stack of shambles if it was used within the last 3 seconds. W: Broken Fluff: Jigsaw restructures her exoskeleton, momentarily becoming immune and retaliating damage attempts. Cooldown: 4/3.75/3.5/3.25/3 Cost: 8% Current Health Immunity/Retaliation Duration: 0.65 seconds Physical Damage Retaliation: 40/65/90/115/130 + 75%/85%/95%/105%/115% Bonus AD Mechanic Notes: Jigsaw becomes immobile for a short duration, gaining immunity to knockups, 90% tenacity, and damage immunity at this time, but losing all ability to cast spells, move, or autoattack. Enemies that attempt to deal damage to Jigsaw during this time take damage. Cooldown starts at the end of immunity/retaliation duration. This ability has no cast time, and can be used while under the effects of cc that would ordinarily prevent you from casting this ability (ex: silence, stun, knock-up), but the Tenacity does not apply retroactively. Damage Retaliation happens once regardless of how many instances of damage you would have taken from an enemy. E: Boreal Storm Fluff: Jigsaw’s bones contain a dark frostbitten wind, that can be unleashed with increasing frequency the more Shambled Jigsaw is, wreaking havoc with a mind of it’s own once Jigsaw breaks her saw on the enemy. Cost: 5% Max Health, cannot be cast if under 2.5% Max Health. Cooldown: 80/75/70/65/60 Cooldown Reductions: This ability goes down by 4 flat cooldown whenever Jigsaw uses an ability. This ability gains 1% CDR stacking with Jigsaw’s standard CDR (up to 90%) for every Shambles Stack she possesses. Damage Buff: 80% Total AD Boreal Wisps Spawned: 2/2/3/4/4 Boreal Wisps function as Minions spawned 8/9/10/11/12 minutes further into the game than the second they are created. The types and amount depend on the rank of this ability. 1 Caster, 1 Melee 1 Cannon, 1 Melee 1 Cannon, 2 Melee 1 Cannon, 1 Caster, 2 Melee 2 Cannon, 2 Melee

Mechanics: This is an autoattack reset. Boreal Wisps spawned function as typical Unrest, except for the following. Health does not decay, but always die in 1 shot to turrets. Take 25% reduced damage from enemy champions instead of 50% bonus. Only attack an enemy champion if they have hurt Jigsaw within the last 3 seconds, or taunted by R.

R: Carnal Frenzy Fluff: A chosen attackable unit or structure emits an aura of traitorous blood lust, whipping all nearby enemies and Unrest units into a mindless frenzy. More intelligent enemies are more prone to resist this frenzy. Jigsaw invigorates herself off of the energy. Cooldown: 80/60/40 Cost: N/A, this ability does not give Jigsaw a stack of Shambles. Selection Range: 600 Range Taunt Aura Duration: 6 seconds Statistics Against Non-Champions Taunt Range: 750 Range Taunt Length: Until 1.2/1.4/1.6 seconds after the taunt aura fades Statistics Against Champions Taunt Range: 350 Range Taunt Length: 1.2/1.4/1.6 seconds. Mechanics Notes: For every unit taunted, Jigsaw instantly Decays a Shambles Stack (to a maximum of 10). If it is an allied unit that is Taunted, Unrested units do not focus on it, and Shambles Stacks are decayed at twice the rate. Enemy Towers can be selected, but will not attack selected targets.

Gameplay Section

Passive (Unrest) Champions with Minionmancy such as Mordekaiser and Yorick are innately hard to make 'feel' like they control legions of swarms, while also making them healthy to balance. Jigsaw takes a different track by creating untold legions, but having them be on a basic predictable ai. Placing a lot of her strengths into splitpushing, team fight utility into generating a bunch of bodies, and having no lane sustain + Boreal Wisps not attacking champions by default to avoid the unhealthy Yorick dread top situation of old, Jigsaw tries to avoid all the pitfalls that other champions in her archetype have fallen into. The unrested units are a core mechanic of Jigsaw, and utilizing them to their full effect is key. Getting a kill in lane, either via a gank or from a duel can provide a very strong push. Jigsaw loves splitpushing and should generally carry teleport in order to get around the map. Enemies can counterplay the unrest, remember that unrest take 50% bonus damage from champions, so even if your adc gets Unrested, you can pop them with 1 spell or so. Passive (Shambles) Shambles is kind of like an ‘ammo’ system, secondary to the health costs in her abilities. Rack up too many and you could spend a very long time ‘walking it off’. Dying does NOT remove all these stacks, so be ready to judge whether spamming 10 more spells in the last 3 seconds of life is worth having 10 extra stacks. If it lets you win, maybe it is. Later on in the game you sometimes will want to R on yourself when clearing a minion wave simply to clear up the Shambles Stacks. Also, Jigsaw looks more and more tattered at 10-20-30-40 stacks, giving a visible recognition sign for when she’s low on steam. Enemies should look out for that, that’s your window to strike. Q The Buzzsaw is a great mobility tool. Mash the key to get around for bursts of speed, and walk off the stacks later. Remember that your AD goes down with stacks, not just movespeed, so you can’t just mash q everywhere with no consequences, you’d drain all your hp away besides. Besides an in combat mobility and damage tool, you can use this to speed up newly created unrest to shove a lane faster, or to get dragon out of the dragon pit and into that mid lane turret before his hp starts really decaying. W Timing is key with this ability. Time it right, and you’ll reflect damage onto enemies that want to land spell combos on you. Time it wrong, and you just sat on your thumbs while the enemy lined up a spell. Enemies can counterplay by recognizing when you’ve w’d their first spell, and positioning for the rest of their combos afterwards. Jigsaw cannot escape this ability early. E Push Push Pppuussshh. This ability allows Jigsaw to create a decently sized wave to shove lanes with. In a 1v1 situation try to pop this early once you get in range so the enemy has to soak the damage from minion aggro. They die in 1 shot to turrets, so try to have something else soak those in a push. Great for Turret Diving though to soak turret shots. Consider putting a second level into this ability early, to get the benefit of the Cannon Minion. Remember that this ability costs Max HP, so being low on hp doesn’t guarantee free-cast. Counterplaying this ability with a push means aoe clearing the low rank shuffling hordes, and letting turret plink these one by one. When in battle with Jigsaw, unless she is really spamming abilities to double down, this is going to be a spell that stays off cd for a long time after use. As her biggest dueling spell, take advantage of her weak spot if she uses this to push, but mind that the more tattered she is, the more she can chain the ability, even if the chain isn’t as powerful from lowered AD. R This ultimate has a cooldown that gets degenerately low at rank 3, but is much less spammy early on. The ability is sub par in 1v1 duels, but really shines in clustered teamfights. Time it when your enemy adc uses their steroid, and taunt them onto their own tank for an immense amount of dps swing. Also, remember that damage dealt by this and not by you does NOT make enemies become Unrested, so try to deal actual damage if you want the ghost. Counterplay: Jigsaw cannot use this ability to make your turrets attack you. Jigsaw can however make you attack your turrets. Make sure not to hug your turret too tightly. In a teamfight, remember that the taunt duration is short, but the taunt aura is very long, and if you were not affected immediately, walking too close to the afflicted champion will taunt you onto them. Similarly, be wary of starting fights inside your own minions.

Your Target: Psionic Rhinoceros Void Creature Name: Gre'Vilash(Greh-vee-losh) Location: Outskirts of Shurima Description of capabilities:

  • His Passive is Mind Over Matter. Every third ability used by Gre'Vilash will have an added effect. Additionally, Gre'Vilash's magic resist is increased by 3 per level.

  • His Q is Horn Rush. Gre'Vilash charges a long distance in a target direction, ignoring unit collision as he charges and dealing 50/90/130/170/210(+30% AP)(+10% Armor). Mind Over Matter Bonus= Gre'Vilash uses his psionic mastery to present his own body as an illusion just before he charges. Because this is very exhausting for Gre'Vilash, his charge distance is shorter, but the void rhinoceros can now charge through TERRAIN(walls) and the AP ratio is increased by 20%.

  • His W is Mental Block. Gre'Vilash creates a tether between his horn and the mind of his enemy, slowly dealing 10(+10/15/20/25/30% AP) magic damage every second for 4 seconds. If the enemy remains tethered for more than 2.75 seconds, they will be silenced for 1 second. Mind Over Matter Bonus= Gre'Vilash projects a multitude of horrors and long-forgotten twisted memories into the mind of his victims, dealing +10 bonus base magic damage to his next tether with every second reducing the magic resistance of his enemy by a mere 3% per second.

  • His E is Outrage. Gre'Vilash goes into a frenzy and begins furiously stomping and bucking, dealing a total of 30/35/40/45/50(+100% AD) over time. Deals triple base damage to minions and monsters. Outrage lasts for 5 seconds. Mind Over Matter Bonus= After his next use of Outrage, Gre'Vilash will go into a state of Zen where he increases his health regeneration by 100% for 6 seconds.

  • His Ultimate is Warcharge. Taking a short time to channel all of his power, Gre'Vilash will take a second to charge up. During this time, up to 1 ally can mount the void rhinoceros. After the cast time, Gre'Vilash will charge forward and carry both his ally and any 1 enemy hit along the way towards the end of Warcharge. Warcharge cannot be effected by Mind Over Matter

Description: A four legged void animal with three eyes that have quite the history. One eye sees the truth, another eye pinpoints wisdom, while the final eye seeks chaos. Calculating and highly intelligent, Gre'Vilash is smart enough to outplay even the smartest foes. Approach with caution, as always. Kaizer, Eos, and Sol will be on standby at your request.
