[Champion Concept] Tyde, the Wave Rider
Before you read this post you will notice I use items from the game. They are there so that I feel better about just giving you text about this champion and not any artwork. Also some of them are relevant to what I am talking about.
This is a champion similar to a concept I made quite a while ago(hence sharing the name), but I feel this version would have more smooth gameplay, and overall fit the game better.
Before I get into him I must emphasize that everything he does is smooth. His walking animation, his auto attack animation, ability animations, everything. Also no lore. Sorry.
Base stats: He is ranged. That's all I care about.
Passive(innate): Riding the Wave - Tyde has a pool of water under him which he surfs on. The size/range of the pool and his abilities scale off of his maximum mana. He also gets movement speed based his maximum mana.
It would have a maximum size of pool and size/range of abilities that would be relatively easy to get with a normal build, but the movespeed would have no limit. I think it's a really cool concept. He has no damage scaling off of his mana though, so you have to balance AP and mana buys.
Q: Waterball! - ACTIVE(very low cooldown(scaling lower with level of ability), under one second with 40% cdr, low mana cost): Tyde throws a ball of water to target location, dealing ? magic damage and going through minions and monsters, but stopping at the first enemy champion hit.
This is a lot of his damage, but it can also leave him oom early on. Its max size with the passive would be fairly small actually, as it is really a single hit ability for fights.
W: Calm - ACTIVE(higher than average cooldown, no mana cost): Tyde stands still and surrounds himself with his water, taking ?% reduced damage from all sources but turrets and gaining ?% of his missing health and mana for ? seconds. This ability gets stronger based on the size of Tyde's pool.
This would be his only ability where(other than size/range of course) it scales off of his maximum mana. Both the reduced damage and health/mana regen would scale off of the size of the pool(therefore having a maximum to the scale). He can cancel the W by moving, and others can cancel it by ccing him.
E: (Name?) - ACTIVE(high cd and mana cost): Tyde launches him and his pool into the air and then lands dealing ? AoE magic damage and slowing enemies. Tyde continues for ? seconds and then launches into the air again, then landing and dealing the same damage and slow. Tyde follows your mouse for the entire process of this ability.
This is hard to explain, but it is meant to be a very smooth ability that requires timing. With minimum mana for his passive the range of the jumps would be able to get you over Dragon/Baron pit wall. At maximum, the range would be very similar to an Ezreal E. The first jump happens when you cast the ability. Tyde lands smoothly and continues to surf towards your mouse until the second jump, then the ability is over. With good timing this can get Tyde over 2 walls. You can't use other abilities during this, so it's only really useful for chasing and escaping in most situations.
R: Geyser - PASSIVE: When Tyde walks and uses abilities, he puts water on the ground and on enemies he hits, lasting for ? seconds.
ACTIVE(high cd and mana cost(similar to most ults): Tyde pulls all of the water he has put on the ground and enemies to him, dealing ? magic damage to all enemies hit by any water as it travels to him. Geyser can be activated again with ? seconds, and then Tyde will summon a geyser at target location, dealing ? magic damage and knocking up all enemies hit for ? seconds. The size of the geyser is based on the amount of water collected when Geyser was first activated. The passive is not in effect when Geyser is on cooldown.
A very wordy ultimate, and I really hope that you understand what it does. The amount of water made from the passive is based off of Tyde's pool size, and the range of the second active is as well. It is a game changing type of ultimate that requires good timing of all his abilities. The best thing to do with it would be to use it as an engage by using E into the enemy team. The E generates a lot of water from the passive, and then it can make a fairly large geyser to knockup at least a couple of the enemies.
This is by far the most work I have put into a champions kit, but I made it really wordy and perhaps difficult to understand. If you did manage to read it all, thank you, and some criticism would be appreciated. Especially if it has to do with my clarity and wording of abilities. Also, is it a good kit? A balanced kit? Would it fit into League? Once again thank you for taking all of the time it took to read this! I wish I could have made it shorter :/
