As a Galio main, and dedicated this account as a Galio Only account i feel i have a good feel on what Galio can do as a champ and what can make him more impressive and emphasis on his character as a 'guardian'. it is hard to pinpoint what makes a gargoyle or golem unique other than being invulnerable to magic and sustained by magic. Riot didnt want to add galio to mage update because they said his Kit needs more of a rework than simply one skill as the other prob will get, but i think i can create a fresh new galio by reworking one skill entirly and buffing a couple others.

Passive: Galio gains 50% of his MR as AP Galio also gains Armor and Mr equal to 10% of his AP

(reason) as cool as his passive seems it is actually fairly weak past his level one bonus and his bonus's with his W, MR is very low and expensive to utilize a good amount of AP. this prevents him from being a Super Niche character thats chosen soley for all ap enemy comps.

Q (reworked): Range 550 radius COST: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 MANA COOLDOWN: 9 Galio slams the ground and causes a shockwave around him dealing Magic Dmg which briefly knocks up enemies for .3 seconds then slows them for 1.5 seconds. Galio Also creates a curved wall directly in front of him made from three large stone pieces at the end of skill radius. each piece of the terrain needs 2 hits to be destroyed and decays every 2 seconds. MAGIC DAMAGE: 75 / 125 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+ 50% AP, + 10% Armor and MR) SLOW: 20 / 23 / 26 / 30 / 33%

(reason) i feel this wall or blockade made from the earth acts like a shield and furthers his protector theme and also add a unique element to his character and can be used to enhance his E ability, making him feel like he can do more plays and provide extra protection/indirect CC as a tank. base damage has been lowered and ratio has been lowered to shift his power more to combos and allow a wider build path. Damage has also been lowered and cooldown increased because of large radius

W remains unchanged

E (added effect/buffed dmg) : RANGE: 1180 COST: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 MANA COOLDOWN: 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 ACTIVE: Galio unleashes a gust of wind in the target direction, dealing magic damage to enemies hits, and leaving behind a directional draft for 5 seconds which grants allies bonus movement speed when they pass through it. if the gust hits the terrain created by his 'Q Ability' it immediately destroys the wall and flings the pieces into three seperate directions, enemies hit will take additional magic damage (3.5% Enemies Max Health) over 2 seconds and slow enemies. MAGIC DAMAGE: 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+ 60% AP) BONUS MOVEMENT SPEED: 20 / 28 / 36 / 44 / 52% SLOW: 24 / 28 / 32 / 36 / 40%

(reason) gives a more interesting use to this ability and can be used to provide more CC as a tank, CC was lowered on his Q but has been granted additional POSSIBLE CC with his E, although it is situational, the Q and E combo can be also used to provide more poke and damage since some of his range has been removed with the new Q.

**R Remains unchanged except also grants a Spell Shield during duration OR Taunt remains even after damage is set off if interrupted prematurely **

(Reason) compared to the other taunts in the game that last the time stated Galios can be immediatly ended by many champs, by providing a spellshield on top of his tenacity resistance he can make his ult better and less risky. the duration of the CC is still very low in comparision to many other champs, especially as an ultimate. Amumu who has a similar ult not only provides same radius and CC duration but Amumu can only cast other spells and move after his is cast.

The mana issues are still there. Since Chalice isn't a fantastic item right now and with Tear not working well on Galio, I can only foresee him remaining a sub par champion. It's a nice idea overall but it wouldn't do much for Galio. Right now Galio is a very well balanced champion as he is and the reason we don't see him is because other champions have all these overloaded kits with just a lot "more oomph", in teamfights. Plus what Galio needs is more teamfight presence and just adding a knockup and removing his long range slow doesn't fix the situation. I love Galio as much as the next 1% but he needs an ability overhaul, not tiny changes.

The biggest problem I see is his passive. Since he now gains MR from AP and AP from MR. buy a doran's ring and walk into lane level 1 and 1 shot the enemy laner with any ability. Why? Because if you gain AP from MR, then your MR goes up because you have more AP, and so on and so fourth to the point where he has infinite AP, MR and Armor. I have no clue how to fix it though, but I think it could be fixed.... somehow.

You know if you made his ult that reliable they are gonna nerf its damage or maybe even its radius.

Personally I would just give him better mana regen or lower the cost of his abilities and maybe add a special effect to his e so that he can fly over terrain, think of it like Bard's magical journey but only he can use it and its multi-directional.

This give him extra mobility and more gank potential for when he is mid and for support it give him access to better ward behind enemies line.

Also i don't think he should gain bonus from his HP Galio is the few tanks that is good without stacking HP he is a mage that work well with Armor and MR and not HP. It shouldn't be like " I must have HP as Galio" it should "HP isn't that bad of a stat".

i think this would make Galio more unique and fun, define his theme more with only one spell change. it will make his ult a little safer which is the bread and butter of his kit and will still prob need to burn a flash, give more cc, vary his build slightly, and differentiates his E a little bit more from Nocturnes. id like to know what everyone thinks and what riot thinks if they see this. i love galio right now and i dont want to see HUGE every skill is different rework, but he has his flaws. i think this fixes them without changing too much and still emphasizing his theme. i absoultly love his W and Riot stated they like his E, they also would prob keep his ult the way it is because thats Galio's core trait and what he is known for mostly as well as the silly passive. therefor i think his Q is teh culprit of his 'needs to be changed' kit. Riot said they dont think he can be fixed with one spell change so not be included in the mage update, but i think he can.

I remember fondly trying to come up with a galio rework.. my poor breakable wall was given to yorick and those are the peeps reworking my baby boy.. lol

i think id trust w.e you say with Galio, you are pretty much every game ever played with Galio anyways. LOL seriously wtf... shoulda stuck with Kass

I like Galio, but haven't bought him. He seems a bit lack luster and this would help alot though. Maybe his E would act like a Nocturne Q and follow him, as now he has less range'd damage and can't trade as well.

i got here from the youtube link. i like galio the way he is, but i can see how this can be more fun.. its like a galio/anivia hybrid with his 'new' Q. i think itll be an awkward mix with e...cause you can free your enemy after? if you want to hit them..?
