Galio Update
As a Galio main, and dedicated this account as a Galio Only account i feel i have a good feel on what Galio can do as a champ and what can make him more impressive and emphasis on his character as a 'guardian'. it is hard to pinpoint what makes a gargoyle or golem unique other than being invulnerable to magic and sustained by magic. Riot didnt want to add galio to mage update because they said his Kit needs more of a rework than simply one skill as the other prob will get, but i think i can create a fresh new galio by reworking one skill entirly and buffing a couple others.
Passive: Galio gains 50% of his MR as AP Galio also gains Armor and Mr equal to 10% of his AP
(reason) as cool as his passive seems it is actually fairly weak past his level one bonus and his bonus's with his W, MR is very low and expensive to utilize a good amount of AP. this prevents him from being a Super Niche character thats chosen soley for all ap enemy comps.
Q (reworked): Range 550 radius COST: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 MANA COOLDOWN: 9 Galio slams the ground and causes a shockwave around him dealing Magic Dmg which briefly knocks up enemies for .3 seconds then slows them for 1.5 seconds. Galio Also creates a curved wall directly in front of him made from three large stone pieces at the end of skill radius. each piece of the terrain needs 2 hits to be destroyed and decays every 2 seconds. MAGIC DAMAGE: 75 / 125 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+ 50% AP, + 10% Armor and MR) SLOW: 20 / 23 / 26 / 30 / 33%
(reason) i feel this wall or blockade made from the earth acts like a shield and furthers his protector theme and also add a unique element to his character and can be used to enhance his E ability, making him feel like he can do more plays and provide extra protection/indirect CC as a tank. base damage has been lowered and ratio has been lowered to shift his power more to combos and allow a wider build path. Damage has also been lowered and cooldown increased because of large radius
W remains unchanged
E (added effect/buffed dmg) : RANGE: 1180 COST: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 MANA COOLDOWN: 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 ACTIVE: Galio unleashes a gust of wind in the target direction, dealing magic damage to enemies hits, and leaving behind a directional draft for 5 seconds which grants allies bonus movement speed when they pass through it. if the gust hits the terrain created by his 'Q Ability' it immediately destroys the wall and flings the pieces into three seperate directions, enemies hit will take additional magic damage (3.5% Enemies Max Health) over 2 seconds and slow enemies. MAGIC DAMAGE: 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+ 60% AP) BONUS MOVEMENT SPEED: 20 / 28 / 36 / 44 / 52% SLOW: 24 / 28 / 32 / 36 / 40%
(reason) gives a more interesting use to this ability and can be used to provide more CC as a tank, CC was lowered on his Q but has been granted additional POSSIBLE CC with his E, although it is situational, the Q and E combo can be also used to provide more poke and damage since some of his range has been removed with the new Q.
**R Remains unchanged except also grants a Spell Shield during duration OR Taunt remains even after damage is set off if interrupted prematurely **
(Reason) compared to the other taunts in the game that last the time stated Galios can be immediatly ended by many champs, by providing a spellshield on top of his tenacity resistance he can make his ult better and less risky. the duration of the CC is still very low in comparision to many other champs, especially as an ultimate. Amumu who has a similar ult not only provides same radius and CC duration but Amumu can only cast other spells and move after his is cast.
