Why doesn't Riot create "simple" champions anymore?

The title says it all really.

I haven't seen a "simple" champion in a long time. Although, just to be clear, I would consider Garen a simple champion. I think his kit is really easy to use and get a hang of, and that it doesn't require a complete knowledge of the game to understand where/how to play him.

I also wonder if, generally, players look down on those who do play simple champs.

Anyways, what are your thoughts?

Seriously, that champion is 90% positioning with your passive, it's so damn simple that it's boring for me. Which is the main reason I dislike this champion.

Partly because simple ability concepts are mostly used up already. There's gotta be some sort of basic ability that doesn't massively overlap with one that already exists in the game, of course, but I can't think of it off the top of my head.

^^ There already exist a lot of simple champions. With so many champions already existing it seems very hard to create a new champion that is both new and interesting as wellas simple and easy to use/understand.

Considering that many "simple champions" are 450 IP and designed to be introductory champions. Having more complex champions makes E-Sport and higher levels of play more interesting.
