Aatrox Rework

Riot has already basically said that they will rework Aatrox since the way he currently is makes him the largest case of feast or famine to the point that it's unhealthy. He either dives in, revives, and dies again with minimal effect on the fight or dives in, kills everyone without them having a chance due to his insane life steal, and then snowballs to become an unstoppable brick wall. His kit is somewhat thematic, but it isn't the unholy blood god that he could be since right now he isn't know for too much. So, I propose (and made) a rework for him that would fit his current Blood God theme by converting him into a Tank that sustains himself and promotes his allies to become savages, then using their accomplishments to become a monster, but not the current "I will 1v3 and still get out with minimal damage when fed". To all those worried, don't be, I kept his extended range melee attack.

Aatrox, the Darkin Blade Tank Secondary: Support Health- 565 (+95 per level) Health Regen. per 5- 7.5 (+0.5 per level) Armor- 15 (+2.75 per level) Magic Resist- 32.1 (+1.25 per level) Movement Speed- 350 Attack Damage- 54 (+3.5 per level) Attack Speed- 0.685 (+2.25% per level) Attack Range- 150 (Melee)

Passive- Savage Glory Innate: Aatrox and allied units within 1000/1250/1500/1750/2000 units of Aatrox gain either 5/10/15/20/25 attack damage or ability power depending on which they have more of from items, runes, and masteries, and then gain 3/4/6/8/10% life steal or spell vamp depending on whether they gained attack damage or ability power from this aura. Whenever Aatrox or an allied champion kill a unit while under this effect, Aatrox will restore 10/20/30/40/50 (+1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2% max health) health, doubled if the kill is an enemy champion. Levels: 1/5/9/13/17

Ability 1- Darkin Assault Passive: Aatrox gains 10/20/30/40/50 bonus attack range. Active: Aatrox's next 3 basic attacks within 7 seconds will deal 5/10/15/20/25 (+25% bonus AD) bonus physical damage and gain 100% increased attack range. Aatrox and all allied champions currently affected by Savage Glory will gain 3/6/9/12/15% movement speed and 10/15/20/25/30% attack speed for 2.5 seconds whenever Aatrox hits an enemy unit with one of these enhanced attacks, the boosts decaying over the duration. Aatrox's attack range during this time is increased to 320/340/360/380/400. Cost: 7.5% current health Cool Down: 13/12/11/10/9 sec.

Ability 2- Call for Blood Active: After choosing a target, Aatrox will begin to channel for 2.5/2.375/2.25/2.125/2 seconds. If the targeted unit does not leave the tether range of this ability before Aatrox finishes channeling, Aatrox will curse them for 5 seconds, causing their blood to flow into Aatrox's sword over the duration. The targeted unit will take 20/25/30/35/40 (+6% bonus health) physical damage per second while cursed and Aatrox will be healed for 50% of the damage dealt. Allied champions affected by Savage Glory will be healed for 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% of the damage dealt. Total Damage Dealt: 100/125/150/175/200 (+30% bonus health) Cost: 6/7/8/9/10% current health Cool Down: 20/18/16/14/12 sec. Range: 600 Tether Range: 950

Ability 3- Honor in Battle Active: Aatrox sends a large force of dark energy in a line in the target direction that narrows as it travels, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+50% bonus AD) physical damage and marking all enemy units hit for 2.5 seconds. If Aatrox or an ally affected by Savage Glory basic attacks a unit marked by this ability, they will take 20/35/50/65/80 (+25% bonus AD) physical damage and be feared from Aatrox for 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5 second(s). Cost: 9% current health Cool Down: 19/18/17/16/15 sec. Range: 900 Starting Width: 600 Ending Width: 5

Ultimate- Blood Well Passive: Aatrox's abilities fuel his blood well, restoring the same percent of the blood well as the costs of Aatrox's abilities. For example, Darkin Assault will restore 7.5% of the total blood well. When Aatrox is killed in battle, all allied units under the effects of Savage Glory will be put under stasis and enemy units will be rooted, blinded, and silenced for 3 seconds. The root, blind, and silence cannot be cleansed or reduced. Over the next 3 seconds, Aatrox will become untargetable and invulnerable as well as remove all healing reductions currently on him. He will then heal himself by an amount equal to the current amount of blood currently in the blood well. After these 3 seconds, Aatrox will become targetable and vulnerable, and all units within Savage Glory will be put out of stasis and cleansed of the root, blind, and silence. For 5/6/7 seconds after being revived, Aatrox will take to the skies and cause all of the effects of Savage Glory to be doubled and ignore unit collision for the duration. Darkin Assault will passively grant 20/40/60/80/100 bonus attack range during this time as well. The maximum amount of blood in the blood well is 500/750/1000 (+15/17.5/20% max health). Aatrox can only be revived by Blood Well once every 250/220/190 seconds, being able to be reduced by cool down reduction. Active: While out of combat, Aatrox will siphon the remaining blood in units that have died nearby within the last 10/15/20 seconds over 5 seconds, channeling for the duration. Aatrox's blood well will be fueled by 5/6.5/8% (+1% per 25 bonus AD) of each dead unit's maximum health. If Aatrox is damaged or affected by crowd control during this time, this ability will immediately end and Aatrox will lose 50% of the blood drained by this ability. Cost: No Cost Cool Down: 50/45/40 sec. Range: 1000/1250/1500

TIPS FOR PLAYING AS AATROX

  • Being near allied champions, even minions, makes use of Savage Glory. Try to be near as many allied units as possible to use it for it's maximum potential.
  • Honor in Battle can be used as an initiation tool, but is best used to help another ally initiate due to it's two part nature.
  • Call for Blood is a great way to sustain yourself and your team in a fight. Just make sure you use it from a position where it will be able to used without being interrupted.
  • Darkin Assault is a great steroid for not only Aatrox, but his entire team. Being near an ally that relies on basic attacks will make great use of it's bonuses.
  • Blood Well's passive is an extremely powerful effect that will save Aatrox from fatal damage and potentially turn the tides of many fights. When it goes off, make sure your team knows that now is the time to fight.
  • Blood Well's active is best used after a successful team fight against the enemy team since you will be able to replenish your Blood Well much quicker by using an enemy champion's health instead of other less healthy units. It can also be used after a fight with an epic monster for a near guaranteed fully charged Blood Well.

TIPS FOR PLAYING AGAINST AATROX

  • When Aatrox activates Darkin Assault, it would be in your best interest to activate any defensive abilities at that time since all allied units affected by his passive will gain enhanced movement and attack speed during that time.
  • Honor in Battle can be best avoided by moving to the left or right since it becomes more narrow as it travels. If it does hit you, it can be avoided by simply moving out of combat for a very short duration.
  • If you are marked with Call for Blood, walk away from Aatrox as quickly as possible. Call for Blood will give both Aatrox and his team a large advantage for as long as it lasts by constantly providing them with health and damaging you.
  • Blood Well's passive is a huge part of fighting Aatrox. When it goes off, all combat around Aatrox will stop for 3 seconds. You can use this time to see what the best possible upcoming outcome for both yourself and your team is and then act when the battle begins again. Once Aatrox is revived, his team will gain a large amount of offensive stats so make sure your team is prepared for such. As a bonus, you can also possibly time Aatrox's death to give yourself the needed 3 seconds for an ability to come off of cool down or a powerful crowd control effect to end.
  • If you see Aatrox using Blood Well's active, simply attacking him will end the ability since it is required to be used out of combat. This will also cause him to lose half of the blood for his Blood Well gained while using Blood Well's active.

Thanks for reading and I will gladly accept feedback of any sorts below. Just make sure it is productive please.

Annnnd I'd never play Aatrox again lol. I think he's great the way he is. Not too difficult but difficult enough that not literally everyone can play him. I honestly don't see why he needs a rework at all.

Why is it that when people come up with concepts or rework ideas they make them so super freaking complicated and overloaded that you don't even know if it's a broken as he'll idea or possibly very weak.

In my opinion riot has the ability to make kits like this with a better idea and even they have huge blunders.

I would like to see more simplistic ideas from the community which riot might actually take into consideration and make thier own way.

Just my o pionion but thanks for sharing your ideas and putting effort into ideas for aatrox.
