Upcoming Aatrox Rework
So, Aatrox has an upcoming rework, though he is a few down the line. I feel like now is a good opportunity for the community to step up with some suggestions for how he should be changed, what would make him work better, and why the last rework didn't do it. The design I put forth solves the following issues:
1.) Aatrox requires his Bloodwell to be full to trade positively, in order to fill his Bloodwell, Aatrox must first trade negatively. Aatrox doesn't have the built in durability to trade after him being ready. If Aatrox builds the durability needed, he falls too far behind in damage.
2.) After Aatrox pops his passive, he is incredibly useless, because his well is empty. His resurrect functions more as a pause on his death than anything else.
3.) Aatrox can CC or be mobile. He has no access to getting on top of someone AND staying on them, leaving him unable to do what he wants, all in people with a full well.
These issues are solved by changing the way his resource (which is ok resource, with two ways to obtain, just to be clear) smoothing out his power curve on the Bloodwell. Improved and smoothed it's scaling to eliminate his Feast or Famine. No longer a fixed cap, instead cap scales off health, with each flat interval granting a flat amount of AS. Access to power, without punishing durability needed to dive in and trade aggressively and consistently in the negative, while not making all of his damage up front and free. His E is changed to give him a small amount of ranged trade power, as well as some mobility through careful lane manipulation. Using health costs and heals,makes Aatrox able to spend and aquire his health in trades to make the best of a high risk high reward late playstyle.
Continued weak points and intentional vulnerability for counterplay
1.) Aatrox continues to be weak when he fights on low Bloodwell. Fights not on his terms are bad fights, simply by his access to free stats means that at base, he has a lower base than most others.
2.) Aatrox still is primarily single target, and melee range.
3.) Aatrox dives in and will probably get run down and killed. His safety in diving in relies on his ability to kill people.
