Because no one is using the chronological format because it's not default.
So a bump does nothing. No one sees it.
Oh no, I made a second topic, now they'll add me to the "willing to use the new layout and didn't just post once and leave" stats.
Could I put legitimate feedback here? Sure. But I don't feel like it. All my feedback is in my previous un-bumpable topic.

Just because your post doesn't appear at the top of everyone's list doesn't mean that it should lose validity or engagement. In the past, bumping has been the way to get your post to become visible again. Have you ever had an experience in which many threads that were "bumped" to the top of GD were not threads you were interested in, or they were simply necro'd because of a single person's opinion. I have a feeling that you've experienced that about 95% of the time you visit GD.
We have not yet solved the challenges that "bumps" bandaid. We are, however, trying out a new platform which opens up possibilities to think outside of the box, allowing us to break the constraints that kept us in the land of "acceptable" and bring us to "awesome"
Also - for statistics, we're much more focused on sentiment than quantity, but thanks for making a second thread!

And it hasn't changed since then. Good luck trying to reinvent the wheel. It has been around for almost 20 years.
RiotKrylhos2 votesYou are right, bumps have been around for a very long time. The internet has changed a lot since then, and the community size has become substantially larger than for what the typical bulletin board style system was really catering for.
More modern community platforms have accommodated for bumps in different ways, such as gauging activity traction, rather than accepting a single 'bump'. Then, using that activity traction to provide easy access to "What people are talking about now" rather than "What people are bumping now".
What it comes down to is a few basic pillars that guides our very small team on this project. We want to make effective use of your time, provide easy access and visibility to relevant and quality content, and make it easy to engage and contribute back.
Also - please keep in mind that this is a beta, and things will be rapidly shifting around. When all is said and done, what you see on this site will be vastly different than what you are experiencing today. The reason we released it so early is because we wanted to shape our decisions based on you, our players.

There's already a thing that does this. It's called Google. If this is what I want, then I will go to Google. If I want a conversation, I will go to forums.
I'm not going to come to your crazy "let's reinvent the wheel" bulletin to get information that Google already provides in a more timely and efficient manner. And I'm not going to go to your crazy bulletin to have a forum-style conversation. I already can't bump my own topic for more replies. I can on GD. Do I want more feedback to my topic on GD? I bump it. On this beta site? Make a new topic or leave. I'd probably choose the "leave" option. Sometimes my traffic on GD is just me bumping/reading my own 2-3 topics that I have been keeping alive for days. If I can't do that, am I going to stay?

He's already a forgotten champ, only a very small amount of players like to talk about him. Your new system means if I want to start a discussion about Morde and get a red answer, that'll never happen.
I understand the logic behind what you're saying, but I don't think you understand what your new system will do. The QQ threads will flood this forum even more. But only the popular ones, of course. If you ever buff Akali, 85% of the forum will be ''Nerf Akali''. Just because something gets upvotes doesn't mean it's intelligent or pertinent.

Tell Riot "why" you don't like it, provide some constructive feedback. Sure not everything will be applied to this forum but going around "I don't post 'cause it does nothing" doesn't help at all. Might as well just not post.
