Is there a reason the boards has a different layout/banner than the main site?

The main site even has a service status icon in the top right. I can see an exclamation point telling me the servers are going down soon, on any page on the main site.

The boards don't. Why do they not share layouts?

To expand your question a bit, why does the Boards platform have a completely different aesthetic than literally every other aspect of League of Legends? It doesn't match the client, it doesn't match the website, it doesn't match the developer forum, it doesn't match LoLeSports, etc.
