Since these boards have an actual active community now, it gets pushed down to almost the bottom of page one immediately after posting.

I'm confused, this doesn't also happen in GD? If you prefer the "most recent reply" ordering then you can click "Recent" at the top and -poof- exact same visibility as vBulletin.
And you attribute that to the post not being seen... not to the post not being of interest to anyone?
They always had an active community lmao... tons of people posted on GD.
