Question: Where do I post stuff about a community-run game mode?

I help run Factions, a community game mode based on faction vs. faction battles (like Noxus vs. Ionia). We've been running for about a year now, with thousands of participants. I mention this as clarifying detail, because it's not so much "it would be cool if there were a game mode like this" as it is "here is some news about a currently active game mode".

I'm not entirely clear on where to post Factions posts. Maps & Modes? Miscellaneous? Community Creations?

For Factions lore, I think Community Creations is probably the place to post it.

But for things like "tournament this weekend" or "sign-ups open for the next round", where would that go? Or, e.g., just a generic "Hey! Come play Factions!" post?

If I had to guess I would say Memes & Games. Otherwise I would say Community Creations. I sort of wish that when they removed things due to it being on the incorrect board they would tell you what board is the right one, some of the topics are kind of unclear or have grey area.

I really don't think Memes & Games is the place for this.

Memes & Games is for derpy "OK" threads and silly forum games like "make a Champion ability with the name of the poster above you".

I love League memes as much as the next cupcake, but I'd honestly be kind of offended if I were told to stick Factions in among the doge pics and such.

I like Community Creations.

What you have is unique in that it could fit both categories, but I feel that if it was to be labeled then "Community Creations" would be more appropriate.

On the other hand, here's what Maps & Modes says:

Maps & Modes is a place to find discussions and content for Summoner’s Rift, Twisted Treeline, Dominion, Howling Abyss or any special mode. Have an idea for a new map or mode? Share it on this board! As long as it’s about maps or modes in League of Legends, you’re in the right place.

I get the impression that this includes things like "Catch the Teemo", i.e., community-created modes.

I feel like it's either CC or M&M. Maybe leaning CC, just because of the lore dimension.

Hmm...yeah, I guess that brings up the underlying question, right? It looks like its entirely contextual to the post. I'd still put Factions in Community Creations, but I might lean on Maps & Modes for the aforementioned mode.

By the aforementioned mode, you mean Catch the Teemo? Yeah, I could see that, to some extent. The lore involvement in Factions makes it maybe more CC than M&M. I don't know.

Eventually I would actually like to see an entire Board dedicated to community game modes. One of the biggest limiting factors to these becoming a thing (other than the lack of in-game tools) is the lack of awareness that these communities of players that want to try something new exist.

I feel like this is a Community Creation, and a cool one at that, and would expect that the Community Creations board would be the correct one to post on.
