If a Champion takes 'zero skill' to play...

Then why aren't you playing them? It takes no skill so you should be able to pick them up and win most of your games. So why don't you? Could it be that they really do take skill and you are just pissing and moaning because you lost? You want to justify your loss, not based on your lack of skill compared to your opponent, but because they play a 'no skill champion'. You would rather belittle someone for playing a zero skill champion than admit they are better and try to get better yourself.

"I could win too if I played a zero skill champion." So... you are playing a champion that 'requires skill' to play and you are losing. Don't that mean you have no skill and should be playing the 'zero skill' champions anyway?

Unfortunately that argument doesn't work. There are actually plenty of reasons to not play a champion that it supposedly faceroll easy. Wanting a challenge, not enjoying the champion, and not playing the roles said champion is best in are all very valid reasons.

The million dollar question is how do you craft a question that both covers situations like the above while also forcing them along the correct line of logic where they will be forced to confront their own role in their loss?

If it wasn't almost 3am I'd give my best attempt at such a question, but instead I'll just leave this post here and hopefully there will be some good attempts to reply to in the morning.

I honestly do not believe the "no skill to play" arguement, even champs with simple mechanics do take skill to take advantage of their toolkit. If their mechanics are easy for them to do then it is not only easy to predict but also easy to counter.

I prefer to win with honor and with a skillful champ. Playing yi is just click and win. Champs with skillshots and complex combos make me feel better for properly positioning and using my kit to it's full extent.

Eh.

Personally I find no joy in what I consider (subjectively) to be "zero skill champions." They're just no fun to play.

I mean, several of them have weaknesses or I'm just lacking in certain departments, but champions like Lee Sin, Leblanc, or Taric (no offense to the mains of any of those three) just don't do it for me. It's all subjective, really. I play champions like Vi, Sona, and even Soraka who get bashed for being no skill, but that's just who I am.

People will complain about champions for being no skill, but that doesn't mean they want to play them either. Some champions are just boring to some people, that's all there is to it.
