If you use chronological view and sorting by recent, the functionality is literally the same as old GD, it's just where things are located on the page that's different.

Truth - overall though I preferred the simplicity of the old boards. These boards feel more like excessive fluff.

You have to remember that the forum community only makes up a tiny portion of the LoL community. So even though it feels like everybody on the forums hates the new boards, most of the players who don't use the forums actually like the change.

The sad thing is, they would actually use this logic to debate it. Just add it to the list of "We know what you want more than you do" things that Rito has done. This time, however, I cannot even see their reasoning behind it.

I've seen this stated a lot and had glanced at this forum before and left with a shrug. (I figured I'd have an immediate problem since I'm susceptible to computer related headaches.) Apparently I was spending less than a minute on here because after this one thread I have a headache and strained eyes myself. I guess my occasional bored lurking is at an end.

Thanks riot, you guys are all around amazing at fucking up yet staying the course and retaining that engorged ego. Keep it up.

It's a thing because, a couple of years ago, some Rioters went to discuss League on Reddit. Being developers, they instantly found their posts getting lots and lots of upvotes. They found this made them feel good and gave them confidence, so they kept going, and they told their Rioter friends. They decided that Reddit was such a magical place where everyone loved everything they said that they would copy it and bring it here, forcefeeding it to the forum population that didn't love everything they said.

I'm with you. It all feels like a cluttered mess and the comments section is even worse. Just the latest in a string of decisions I disagree with, though. My opinion of Riot has gone to hell over the past year.

My biggest issue with the new "boards" is that everything seems so homogeneous. It is really difficult to visually distinguish different things and to navigate around because it is all so flat and similarly-colored. The interface feels like a big step backward, or like unfinished or something. It shouldn't be simplistic the way Reddit is.

Reddit is a completely different thing, and even there the League of Legends Reddit has a heavily customized interface. At least the /r/LeagueofLegends interface is "good enough". I really doubt I'll be using "boards" much at all :-\

Im gonna miss GD :C .. you cant even upload any pictures here on the threads except using imgur and champion icons, summoner spells and items.. sigh Ahri and you cant even space all you want... with your setences or words... and my letter "i" in my summoner name is showing an capital "i" instead of "l" anymore

These new boards blow. Why does Riot have to keep changing every single thing about this game constantly? Horrible VUs (Vayne, Shyvana, i'm looking at you) and now this godawful forum design change. I hate this forum layout. I'll probably visit the forums much, much less now. Can't stress enough how stupid this layout is. Just give us back the old boards.

They announced last week they were shutting down GD. There was a lot about the old forums that restricted what they could actually do with it. So that part I understand at least. Overall though, I hate the new boards so it's whatever I guess.
