Don't just randomly click a champion because you panicked.
The game is not balanced enough for that. There are champions who are top bans because they don't require much skill to win with.
Better that you and you alone take the punishment of a mere 6 minute wait than an entire team be forced into a 20-40 minute losing match because the enemy got just one of those champions.
You're assuming that one single champion will ruin the game, you're also assuming all top picks require no skill to win. You're also assuming that the players who pick them will championship tier pros. The top rated pick this month for NA is Sejuani, a melee champ rated medium-medium high difficulty. You would abandon a game just because of one hero with CC...when there's only about a gazillion heroes with CC in LoL? Seems a little melodramatic.
Personally, I never vote for surrender. I would rather watch my Ancient fall than quit. Maybe that's just me.
