No, really. Between their awful refund policies, their garbage customer support, their endless lies, their people in the company that are just awful to the fans (Opeli, don't think I've forgotten about you), the refusal to listen to the customers, even on PBE, a place MADE so they could hear the customers, ignoring two modes, and the people who play them, the removal of the lore that made them special (Kudos to the current event, but JoJ and the old IoW and such set them apart from DOTA, which was just "fite because."), and now the utter ruination of several fan favorite champs, as well as to an entire play-style (RIP Tanks.)...

Riot, you guys know you can just...like, quit, right? You can leave with dignity.

Yep, I read your post and downvoted it anyway. Calling people who disagree with your point of view fools in advance is a pretty immature thing to do.

I don't see a problem with their refund policies - they give you three refunds when by all rights they don't need to give any.

garbage customer support

Customer support in my experience has been responsive, and any reasonable request I've made has been fulfilled.

An exaggeration. If you can name more than a few occurrences I'd be impressed.

A Rioter explained why the PBE is only lightly considered - the environment is too small, people don't play seriously, often AFK and the majority of players are low Elo on their mains and so they don't understand the basics of the game.

Personally I play games for gameplay. If you want good story writing, read a book, watch a show, or play an RPG/adventure game.

Exaggeration. People claim this about many remakes, and then they grow to accept it and realise it's really not that bad of a change. Especially when Riot buffs/nerfs them to weak their power levels.

I remember the old days where we didn't have refunds. A limited refund policy encourages people to look and research before they buy rather than buy randomly and just refund it if they don't like it for some stupid reason. 'S why I always consult a model viewer before I buy a skin, or why I play a champion a few times on free week or talk to people I know main them before I buy said champion. Though the latter isn't really a problem anymore. Wouldn't argue if people wanted a little bit more from it, but what they have now isn't bad.

As someone with a lot of experience on both ends of the customer support spectrum, Riot is pretty good. They generally respond quickly if not always accurately, but canned replies are par for the course for any customer service system that has to deal with an enormous daily volume (and the canned replies are usually right, too). I haven't had any real issues with them.

This is why we can't have nice things. People take everything a Rioter says as a promise, even if they went out of their way to tell people it was in no way shape or form a promise. This is more than likely the result of a widely-exploited psychological flaw - People remember the line, but they don't remember the context or the source. It may be a dredged-up promise from a Rioter who hasn't worked there in years, it may be a misremembered statement from an off-hand comment that's been mistaken for a promise, it could be any number of things. This happens more often when the company tries to be open and informative, which is a great way of telling Riot 'If you tell us anything, we'll use it against you later.'

Riot is manned by humans. Humans vary in their response to stimuli. And there's a very vocal segment of the fanbase that is horrible to them for no apparent reason. It makes sense, then, that some few people (Opeli) are going to respond both poorly and publicly to people telling them to commit suicide, making fun of their co-worker's death, or hoping their families get cancer and their house burns down (all things I've personally seen people doing regularly on these forums). Normally the less iron-skinned rioters just avoid the forums, but sometimes one of them makes it through and we get to see this sort of behavior at work.

Which customers? Riot's playerbase is so huge that anything they do will piss somebody off. The whole of the forums represent maybe 1% of the global League playerbase. So they can't really listen to all their customers since all their customers demand something different. Can't please everybody all the time.

Yeah, I'm sort of upset about that... or rather, I was. Riot's managed to convert me to their way of thinking on this one - Not having the IoW allows for the evolution of the main story in ways it never could have before. Burning Tides was a great example of something that could never happen with the IoW - The second Graves fired a shot at TF some summoner would've appeared to waggle his finger, tell him that's against the rules, and drag the both of them into time-out. Don't believe me? This happened to Malzahar and Kassadin on a personal scale (Karthus died but was revived off-panel like it was no big deal) and Demacia and Noxus on a regional scale (Months of buildup to the Kalamanda conflict that got shut down in seconds by the IoW). I'm still nervous about some of the upcoming lore revisions (especially Kayle and Morgana) but I do agree with their initial point that the IoW and its all-powerful summoners had become a limiting factor on the lore rather than a good centerpoint for it. It also means an end to the threads complaining about X champion not having a reason to join the League.

Uh... Who? Darius is regularly one of League's more-hated champions, especially when he's actually good. Garen is fun, but he's not one that sees a lot of play outside the newbie level because he's terrible outside the lane. Mordekaiser and Skarner are troll-picks at best these days - No serious player would ever pick them. And Fiora had a good-sized hatedom too.

Not to mention removing Tribunal and putting in an auto-system of punishing players, when that can, will AND have been abused on innocent players. A team of trolls can very easily get a player in trouble even if they have been super nice and polite. For what reason? "LOL CUZ WE CAN THX RI0T 4 REMOVIN TRIBUNALLLL"
