Riot, will you be adding a "bot" option to reporting?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this. I just report for assisting enemy or feeding, beccacuse that's what they do. but the option would be nice.

Or, at least, an official Rito suggestion on which category that falls into.

Same. with a comment about how it's a bot. It's Riot though, they're introducing bots into the system to force people to play with pre-made fives! Buys Tinfoil Hat /Conspiracy.

Riot suggests doing exactly that: use an existing category that matches the bot's activity (e.g. Intentional Feeding or Refusal to Communicate) and specify that it's a bot and why you think so in the comments.

While it would be nice, I don't think it would be a good idea. As far as I know if you have evidence to support someone boting in your game what you need to do is contact support. And they'll look into it. I can only see too much bad if there was an option for boting. Especially with how serious it is. One would think if someone reported you for that it be taken seriously. People think that the player whose been reported in that option be temporarily ban from their account. Plus what would happen if people false report people in that option?

All in all its just too much work for them to actually consider. Hopefully one day we will see with a way to distinguish a false report or not!

Except with bots, it's very easy to tell

Check their KDA, as bots always have 3/20 or something thereof.
Check the chat log. Bots can't talk.
Check their death positions, as bots will rarely stay in one lane.

And do you think the people who progam these bots will just keep it that way? I have seen times where bots "try" to communicate. Like calling roles (yet staying in mid) and type other gibberish, but they will improve. Heck before when i started playing leagues all bots did was just stay in lane. They didnt buy items, never did any skills, just AA if they got close enough to a minion, or champion. Now a days they are improving, and will only continue to improve till its very difficult to prove!

So the logical answer is..don't try to stop them at all?

No, but i rather do what they are doing now, than just getting people (temporarily) ban because people will report others in this category when they get salty. "If" they implement something like this it should be done in a serious manner other than how all the other reports are going through. Heck they dont even have the man power now to look into cases, and to add other options to the report system is just going to get crazy.

Riot does a tremendous amount of research into accounts suspected of elo boosting, reporting for botting wouldn't be much different, it would just raise a flag for Riot to look into and verify or clear away. Riot doesn't ban people lightly or without strong evidence, so I wouldn't be concerned about getting people banned by mistake. Whether with a new bot reporting category or by the advice given in Minarde's comment.
