Muting others should mute you to them.

So, I've just recently discovered that putting others on mute does not mute you to them...Why not? I'm salty as hell, and when playing with my friends, I will call others out, bitch and moan about teammates that aren't friends, but only after muting the non-friends, under the impression that they can't hear me, so I can air my problems out as need be. This came to light especially in a bots game while teaching a friend, and telling her stupid trolls like there aren't the norm. I was told that they heard me.. So, why DOESN'T muting others silence yourself to them? Shouldn't that be normal?

I really really doubt you would have the mentality to actually mute yourself, just so you can talk crap to yourself where no one else is listening. It's like having a conversation with a wall.

Most people tend to talk crap because they want them to hear all of their bullshit because they "deserve" it. Don't lie to me, I KNOW this is your kind of style as well.

So no, this "mute yourself" system will not be that effective at all. One way to "mute yourself" is using your own mouth & let it all out in your own room, instead of having to angrily typed trash words on your keyboard.

Ah, Riot boards circle jerk. Where anything against the grain is treated like retardation, because people can't think for themselves. Or read apparently. My bad, forgot you guys are brainless idiots.

Have you ever actually played a game that muting people stopped them from hearing you? I'm curious because I have seen a handful of people say this and I'm shocked every time. This is the only place I have ever seen anyone even suggest that mute should stop people from seeing your own messages.

Have you ever put a cell phone on mute, They cant hear you but you can hear them. Its is not for you to decide what someone else can read or hear, if you dont want another player to see what you have to say, send it in whispers.

I am fully against "self muting" If someone is going to talk crap about me, to other people on the team I am currently playing with (which is what 80% of people would use this for) Then I want to see it. And if they desire so much for me to not see it, they need to hop in a ventrillo program, or send it in whispers.

actually. i wouldnt be opposed to this. it would help ragers and people who tilt easily and keep people from picking up chat restrictions that they wouldnt otherwise get had it not been for some 12 year old taunting them the whole game trying to get them banned

On the one hand it would let people who are prone to raging and trying to reform censor themselves when they are getting egged on by one or more other users and they feel the temptation to mute and still talk smack when said players make poor plays.

On the other hand the way it works now lets people that have muted other players still call out things like "mid no f" or other important things without actually interacting with the muted player.

Who knows which is ultimately the right choice, I sure don't.
