Now, I know the spectator mode is set three minutes behind to avoid this.
However, it is still possible for someone three minutes behind to tell their friend about summoner spell/ long ultimate cooldowns that are ready or are still on cooldown.
Is that against the rules?
I think a bigger offense is being able to point out pink wards that haven't been discovered.
I think it's more effort than it's worth to get very little information. Then again, it probably isn't too much different than having a 'coach' behind you in an MLG Halo tournament.
Eh, if they need the extra information for that one game, it's not worth your effort to hunt them down. Just unethical and way too try hard.
Yes it's sad and pathetic that there are people who do this. It's still cheating so I'm sure it is against the rules.
Most people worth half their weight in salt time summoner spells themselves in game anyway. The only ultimate with a cooldown longer than 3 minutes that I can think of is Karthus, and if you missed when that was, you deserve to not be prepared for it.
Zac and Anivia Egg would be worth timing, but they have static cooldowns so if you know the cooldown time of it you know when it's up. Aatrox might have value, but it's visibly easy to tell when it is or isn't up as well.
So really there's nothing of value that you could learn from having someone tell you stuff in spectator mode that you wouldn't have access to any other way.
Usually, people keep track of those on their own... and it is really really easy for flash and summmoners
Make sure your chat has timers on it and type "Mid F" or "Top F'etc, and count 5 mins after that would be when the flash is next up. Even if u forget, the time stamp is still there to remind you.
Ult is a bit harder. But I don't think there is any ults in LoL that has CD that's longer than 3 minutes so it really wouldn't help if spectators can see ult cool down in time to make a difference.
