Even in normal games I see the same champs mid
Zed Leblanc Katarina Ahri. Can we just gut them or buff other mid laners? I'm tired of seeing them in every freaking game. Mid lane is the least diverse lane in the game. It's been that way for ages

Normals is identical to ranked thanks to the ranked restrictions. People only play to win. There's almost never off-meta picks or forfeits.
Or maybe people just enjoy playing Zed Leblanc Katarina and Ahri.
From an LCS perspective, mid lane is and has been the most diverse role in the game for years. Seeing as LCS tends to trickle down, I'm relatively confident saying this is also the case in lower tiers of play.
Keep in mind, by the way, that the champions you listed are heavy snowballers. In lower levels of solo queue play these champions have proportionately higher impact, so people tend to gravitate towards them. There's also the fact they're super fun and let you destroy people by outplay rather than brute force, which is cool.
