Opt out of 1st pick/captain

I dont want to pick first(mostly because I like to fill), and I dont want to ban, but many other people do, why no option to opt out of the captain/1st pick?

Someone would say, "Duo with someone to avoid being a captain" but that's a loaded gun.

So instead, i'ma agree with you. A lot of times, I don't like being the captain.

Although wouldn't it be a source of rage if some douche doesn't get to be captain or the captain forgets to ban someone as freelo as Lissandra?

We should all agree that becoming better players is the goal. Anything like opting out of 1rst pos or giving teams more bans is counter productive.

Learn the game instesd of asking Riot to change the game to suit you.

Honestly, I don't think you should be able to do that. Being captain is good insight on teaching you how to ban. Because I had to learn how to properly ban after much trial and error (involving many bans of Teemo and Volibear because fuck them both that's why) I can usually force a player to waste a ban they could have used on someone else if I'm first ban, or sneak a champion though if I'm second.

I don't like being first pick, but I still prefer it over last.

I can handle 4 roles really well, and suck a massive fat one when it comes to jungle. If I go first at least I know I can handle my own. If I go last, I know I am probably screwed unless someone else jungles which is a crapshoot at best in my current division.

Why would you want to opt out? It puts you in such a better position to carry your team. I for one will pick mid and ban Kat and Zed, which allows me to easily win lane and carry. If you don't care about first pick, first pick for someone else. For bans, just look up whatever's op or ask your teammates.

tbh if you don't want to ban you can just search up the top bans on lolking or whatever and go with that and probably be fine.

Honestly, I prefer the lower picks. Less diplomacy is needed.

Maybe there could be a system as simple as trading champions, but instead with trading positions

This is a game, a game that relies on skill and knowledge. The best way to attain knowledge is to put yourself in situations that are outside of your comfort zone. As a fill I would suggest asking peoples pref roles and just filling what is left.

I'm a balanced player, so I just let all of the preferences roll in and pick my role based on what's left (When someone below me is filling in I'll take the initiative and pick a roll) As for banning I ask people what they like to see banned, pick the most obnoxious 2 to play against, then ban Kalista if she wasn't one of them (I'm sorry, but eliminating half of my team just because they're melee is a bit obnoxious), or take a 3rd ban request. Maybe you could do the same? Or just join a ranked 5's if you're into that sort of thing and have someone else pick captain, and let him call the shots. P.S. I do agree that it would be a great feature, but I would add that if all 5 people matched together are opted out it would still pick one of the remaining players and tell you that that's what happened.
