A question for the philosophers
If your champ production rate quadruples, but people only want to play 1 out of every 4 new champs, has any progress been made?

Yes. Efficiency is another question.
Efficiency?
How many new champs are actually being played.
So yes, the team is productive (they are producing), but they aren't very efficient at their job, as no one wants to use their production.
There are more champs enjoyed than there were before, thus progress has been made toward improving the game. However, with a 25% acceptance rate, the production efficiency has not changed, ie, the amount of new used content per time spent. It also hasn't decreased though.
Progress is such a subjective term. Invalid question.
Have you ever taken a philosophy course before?
Yup.
The problem arises in your definition of progress. Obviously progress has been made. The number of champs now is > than the number of champs before. Progress. So asking if any progress has been made is a redundant question.
Yeah but this is why it's called "question for the philosophers." And not "a question for math majors."
It's not obvious, and its a question that exists between measurable metrics.
Except it's not a question for philosophers lol.
I think we're at an impasse.
If you release more champions with different play styles there are likely to be players who prefer one champion over the other, but there are also likely to be other players who like a different champion over the others. If you released only one champion, people will only like it or they wont.
