Has Riot ever thought of doing different Genders for a skin?

Like a Female Yasuo skin? Or Riven as a dude?

I dunno I think these would be pretty cool legit skins, and I don't think it would disrupt much from gameplay in actual practice if thats one of the worrys the team has about making a skin in which the gender changes.

I don't think this is a too good of an idea because they have to re-animate every single thing, get more voice actresses and I'm pretty sure that its gonna lead to female skins of skins so if you make a gender switch skin might as well just make a completely new champion

No they dont have to re-animate it? No they dont have to find more female voice actors, people can do A LOT more then one voice (A LOT).

It's been suggested before. But ultimately I think they said it would be too difficult (At least that's what they said in the past if I recall correctly.)

I can kinda see their point of view on that. Just looking at the 3 fem-Yasuos on the OP, you can see there's so many ways to create a genderswap of a character; which one to choose? Plus, you'd need to do serious work with animations. Going back to Yasuo as an example, how do you make his walk cycle work on a female model? Really go look at the way Yasuo runs. That would just look clumsy, so you'd have to design it all over to fit a female character. Same goes with pretty much all animations.

Also, what's the right choice with voice acting? Would the community be pleased if it was the same lines, or do you need to do even more work to create entirely new lines? What if the genderswap outshines the original if the latter is chosen?

Well, atleast that's the way I think Riot sees the situation. I could be wrong. Personally I don't care if we do or do not get rule 63 skins.

Well I feel like if they did make these skins they would be either legendary or ultimate, which both get new voice over, animations, and models. Also changing walking animatinos isn't to difficult as someone like Hyena Warwick has that and thats an outdated skin (Even a community creator made a pool party Irelia skin and was able to have her ride the surf board)

But it's different with Hyena Warwick, because it's still Warwick. But from Yasuo to Fem-Yasuo, it's a whole new character. The change is a lot simpler from Wolf to Hyena than with Male to Female. It's not the animating itself that's the difficult task, it's the concept.

Also yes, these skins would be considered legendary, they don't fit the criteria of ultimate, such as evolving forms and summoner icons.

like undyne said people have begged but riot said if they did it the skins would be ultimate since they would need new voice actors and new body models it would literally be a new champion just without figuring out what they do.

but he has the same voice actor they didn't need to cast new people to do it. making a skin is easy that's why they don't go past 10 bucks it's the vo that's expensive plus nasus didn't change completely. a new gender would be a new person for example take yasuo he would have to slim down considerably to fit the feminine form his shoulders would narrow making his shoulder cape (i believe its a called a shol, a shal?) shrink considerably which over all means his model would shrink and adjust for this. on top of all that you have to consider animations and abilitys a melee champ would be so much more work than a ranged character you have to adjust the weapon the skills the animations like dances hell they'd need a new skelington to fit onto. I would probably see a casual skin line like the champions in street cloths similar to vindicator vayne rugged garen to the ssw and skt skins that look like they would walk around in when not championing sooner than gender swap skins

Neat idea, but skins would be harder because they need more voice actors or try to find the right ones for the genderbent versions.

They don't have there own voice actors, voice actors for the most part are free lance and only do the job when hired. Several people can do the same voice and sound exactly the same, a voice actor from elise, or any other female character/male could do it.

consider the following how would you feel if suddenly you played your main lets say teemo and he got a new skin but they changed the voice actor to say draven. no better idea what if every male champion in the game was voiced by draven same quotes same everything but the voice actor was draven then lets bump it up draven now voices everyone it just happens the guy does his best to imitate the other people but they all sound like draven.

riot doesn't have their own voice actors but characters do sure people can imitate them but they also have fans i know that yuri lowenthal voices taric and I thought that was sick because I know him and have heard his work there was this guy like kaggy something or other i think who could do a spot on impression only of one line that sounds like him but it was one line sure he could be cheaper but a name can mean business.

yasuo is voiced by liam o brian he also voiced gaara in naruto war in dark siders and caius in ff4 just to name a few of his works would you like him to be replaced by a sound alike that isn't a proffesional is completly new to voice acting but just sounds alike? how about in movies? spiderman being played by nicolas cage or iron man being played by some guy instead of robert downy junior. yeah voice actors are freelance they get gigs they don't and sometimes get replaced like what happened to the powerpuff girls sure they sound alike but you can instantly tell bubbles isn't tera strong but fans do care about the characters and become fans of the people portaying them.

think twice before you say anyone else can do this role its how bad dubs happen

I think a huge part of it would be silhouette. A champion needs to keep the same silhouette in all their skins otherwise it would cause confusion in game. The only difference in a gender swap skin visually would be hair(mabye), silhouette, and boobs. And since you aren't really supposed to change the silhouette, why would you buy a skin that is just base skin but with boobs.

They don't need to re-record new voices. They can use the same voices and say they are transgendered skins. Ez, fam

I believe they did address that some time ago, that it would cause a lot of clarity issues (clarity as in being able to discern quickly who and what's going on with a simple glimpse), and that they would most definitely not be doing that, and that's not even counting how much work it'd be to actually re-model and re-animate the Champions (rigging can be tricky).
