Can Infinity Edge have AP again?

There are so many champions that it benefits, and without it I feel that it shouldn't be Infinity Edge anymore because it doesn't give "everything" anymore. Compensate some of the AP you took off of all the items (like Infinity Edge and Ice Born Gauntlet) and put them on other smaller AP items to compensate because you took a lot of fun out of diverse itemization and made it harder for me to want to play champs more diverse. I use to go Teemo ADC because I knew that even if I got only AS and AD, I still had Infinity Edge to not only give those two, but some AP for that necessity to my kit. Now what? I'm sure a lot of Ekko AD junglers feel like it could had been handy as well.
