Why isn't there a log out feature?
It would take you back to the log in screen instead of you having to completely exit and log back in.

Because the launcher, login, and home UI are technically 3 different programs with separate files. The game wants to make sure it is patched to latest version before logging in and only way to do that is to start from the top.
Otherwise if you simply "clicked out" you could in theory re login with a older build (such as a micro patch that was added) and your game would function (properly).
Because a megalomaniac designed the game so he could become a god. If you die in the game, you die in real life.
