They don't deserve any slack cutting. They are responsible for one game. They make enough money to hire the best people.
There is no excuse for rolling out systems only to unroll them because they didn't test it properly or understand its implications.

I'm not defending Riot, just saying that other companies fuck up too.
Edit: Personally, I haven't bought RP since October 2014, there are certain things that are completely unacceptable at this state, still no replays, stupid bullshit reason for no kind of playground mode, certain other things promised, even tiny that should have been things ages ago, but other game companies fuck up too, got to be fair about it.
Just keep in mind there's a difference between defending Riot and simply pointing out that the people attacking Riot use terrible arguments.
Like you. How are they supposed to properly prepare the new queue for a live environment without using a live environment to test it on? Don't say the PBE, because it has a small population that helps test for bugs. It simply cannot test for large server problems.

Mistakes happen, and that's okay.
There are things that Riot needs to be yelled at for, but a brand new system having an unexpected bug is the least of them.
i agree dont yell at them let them fix it. but i thought the bug was that the placements where being very unfair to people as we are sick of the grind and the bar getting put way above the normal players heads,
