why so much ignite in lcs supports?

I am just curious why so many lcs supports get ignite. So many other spells can be so much more usefull, heal, exhaust, clense, barrier, teleport, even smite is better than ignite on support.

I know some champions have tones of cc but still what is the problem of carrying an extra exhaust with you.

Why do they prefer it?

Well those are people that work well with their adc, maybe the ignite really helps the adc trying to poke and can prevent escapess.

Heal because it won't get nearly as much value as you think, especially since most of the time supports are normally lower level then everyone else. Barrier and Cleanse, why? If the opponent is focusing you as the support and you didn't get caught, chances are it is for the best, your team should be blowing them up while you die. Smite, once again why? Teleport, meph, TP is strong right now, exhaust, yeah it does seem like the better option for me then ignite, I guess they pick ignite thinking when we all in, I can cripple the opponent's heal making it easier for my ADC to get the kill.

I believe the ignite is to shut off the rampant healing that's going around as well as for the late game. Every ADC builds either a BT or Bork (or both) and have insane healing in the mid to late game. Ignite cut that in half so that the rest of the team can focus on the ADC better in team fights.. that's my take on it at least.

they take ignite to add kill pressure to the lane because the meta is shifting to a dive heavy more aggressive meta so the ignite contributes more to that meta
