Should a skin be related to a champions personality/lore? The current Caitlyn skin coming out to me has no resemblance at all to Caitlyn, besides her abilities of course. But is this ok? I'm a sucker for skins which have a story/reasoning behind them like the project skin line, or skins that really bring out a champions personality like dunk master Darius
i feel not necessarily, as then where would the championship, Worlds, and holiday skins be stuck? for the most part, due to lore, there would be almost no skins like this.
The way I see it, Skins Dont have to reflect the -Champs- Abilities/personality Because they are a reflection of YOUR OWN personality,
Think about it, everyone has a preferred skin that they use for a particular champ. Why is that? Because the skins are NOT a declaration of skill (As some "refund ur skin" idiots would have people believe) But they are a reflection of YOURSELF. I am a support main and Out of all My skins that I have for SONA, I tend to go back and forth between "Arcade" and "DJ Sona" Why? Because I am a gamer, and I love music, often having music playing in time with my matches. I plan to get Dragon trainer tristana, why? Because I am an artist and BIG into Fantasy and fiction. NOT because I know every little thing about a particular champ. And If you have a skin on a champ that makes the character more in line with your own personality, it is a good chance that You will be more inclined to use that champ more and thus try and improve how you play them.
Alot of peopl arrogantly act like skins are a declaration of "I have as skin so I must be a god with this champ" when in reality most people buy a skin because a particular skin connects with THEM in some way. So it doesnt have to really match the champion's personality, as the skin is showing a little bit of YOUR OWN personality. What you like, what you are interested in.
TL: DR: Skins dont have to represent a champions personality, they are intended to show everyone else a bit of YOUR OWN personality. Thats why everyone has a particular skin that they prefer to or always use
