Can we agree that the Boards are a failure

It was created by Riot for the community to 1- have fun 2-communicate with rioters

Unfortunately community is not mature enough and ends up flaming other members and rioters, posting loads of memes that lower the quality of the forum, and most importantly the community messing up balance by making rioters feel bad (For instance: yasuo ,zed, skarner ,lucian, tahm kench, etc etc etc).

Apology to Riot on behalf of the community ( prob not cus this will get downvoted but :P )

I don't understand.

I mean a filter option would definitely be useful (keep advocating that, please!), but posting memes in the memes and games section doesn't lower the quality (and, if we're talking about the boards being a failure, posting memes in memes and games is working as intended) :< Just a filter would be nice, you know?

I have fun on them. And I have had a surprising amount of communication, directly, with Rioters.

They are working fine as long as you keep your expectations in the right place. Boards were never going to be a magical, happy land of mature, concerned, talented players. The player-base are flawed humans, so the Boards are flawed. They are working fine, though. It's all good.

The fact that one of the two goals was for the community to have fun, and you say that posting memes frequently is a bad thing is contradictory.

Well, I'd say it's mostly because the majority of boards is silver/bronze whining about how yasuo is op or riot shows favoritism for certain champions for no fucking reason.

It not like the old forums were any better tbh. It was the same thing you get here with a little more popularity and a little less moderation. All the same problems existed which is why they tried to make the switch. But ultimately its like you said Riot can't really do anything about the community itself.

That is all communities, especially online! memes go in a specific forum so if that is not something you prefer don't visit it. I do enjoy a good meme, just because you don't like it doesn't make the forums less successful. Just stick to forums that contain the content you enjoy. (:

I'd say Goal number 2 is working out alright.

However, secretilluminatirito Goal number 3 - give the angry mob a place to blow off steam at no real expense to Riot (i.e. bricks through Riot HQ's windows (jk I know they have a secret bunker for HQ)) - seems to be moving along smoothly as well.
