Why did support Lux stop being a thing?
I have been having pretty good luck with it when I am stuck with support but I never see it anymore. Champion.gg doesn't even have a support Lux page. Is there some reason it is not a good pick anymore?

It was never a thing. Just frustrated kids who wanted to go mid but had to supp, so they pick the champion they would taking mid anyway. See also: Xerath supp, Azir supp, Leblanc supp, Orianna supp, Syndra supp, TF supp.
"Stuck with support"
As a support main, can I respectfully suggest you play a real support champ otherwise gtfo my role.
In my opinion Support Lux is still a thing, just with the newer champs and current Meta, people can pick Lux, but often would rather pick this champ, or that champ, for this or that reason.
I find it kind of surprising that bringing different, non-meta champions into bot lane isn't a more popular thing.
In my admittedly limited experience, bringing an a-typical support champion you know how to play to bot lane is almost a guaranteed win unless your opponents are really good.
Most of my devastating wins/losses in bot lane are because someone brings someone like Jarvan into bot as support and the other side just doesnt know how to respond. It winds up being a scenario where they cant even fight 2v2 because the a-typical support brings so much more damage that their cc/shields/healing just cant compete. Its even more of a pain when its someone like Lux who can poke from extremely long range so farming under tower isn't even a safe option.
While I haven't tried size support I wouldn't say he is the stupidest thing. With his sand soldiers he can be a massive poke towards the enemy team in early laning phase. Again though like I've said I haven't tried him, but I assume if someone was good with him not lane could be deadly!
As for lux support I like using her when I can. Her cc is great and shield is awesome when you or your team needs it! People probably don't like it because most don't build support and just go full on ap which is just idiotic!
has (arguably) a better snare and shield.
has pretty much the same passive, but the adc procs it, and she's a tank. Also, the pool party skin is much hotter than anything Lux can bring to the table.
It's just that other champs bring more to that role than she does. I'd recommend the two above if you want someone similar to Lux. Or, just do what everyone else does, and pick
.
Or, stick with her and find ways to overcome the disadvantage. If nothing else, if you have a weak ADC, you'll pick up the slack. Imean, it's not like she's a troll pick, at least she has support abilities.
