RP for birthdays
Why get rid of it?
Why get rid of it?
Because too many people smurff lmao. If a person has 10 smurffs, how much money is Riot gonna lose?
Didn't Riot just make "the Heist" to find these smurfs? Just saying. Also, it will take a while to get a smurf to get to level 15, if any, there would only be 2 in total. And those smurfs will just be found out anyway. With the Riot team doing all they can to stop smurfs, we should be safer enough to get this. I mean, its just once a year.
And if someone does make a second account, wouldn't they just make that their new main? Putting all the effort and all into the new account.
The Heist had nothing to do with smurfs... it was another event centered around vaulting older skins.
Riot really doesn't care about smurfs for the most part anyway. Only thing they do care about is fraud, and if we were to get RP on birthdays, like it was said, there'd be too many people getting it and riot would be losing money.

Riot wouldn't lose any money lol. RP is not real...it is a digital currency, It would not cost them a dime to give bday rp away. Players would still have to pay fro the other 364 days :/ even with 10 smurfs
My birthday being in 3 days, of course I support this.
People born on february 29th would be sad :( also riot would be losing moneys due to LoL's huge player base.
So Riot is going to be losing money from fake points they already make up out of thin air? That literally is a poor excuse Riot must had made. How? Why? Its like once a year. I don't understand how they lose money. They don't spend money to create RP. No, they just make coding that allows you to gain fake points to spend on merchandise in their store. Also, anything in their store that is worth something would still be out of reach. Unless on sale which means they don't care about these certain skins.

You can't be that stupid can you? Riot points represent skins, champions, and rune pages. And Riot definitely spent money to create the champions and skins.
If they give away RP, they lose out on some potential purchases customers might have made if they didn't get that free RP. LoL is a f2p game, Riot has every right to reserve skins for paying customers.
(Damn that sounded white knightish. I promise i'll make a thread criticizing Riot's lore or something later.)
So, let me also get this straight. Riot has made a lot of champions and skins by now. And each one was given a certain amount of needed RP to get. And from what I've seen, it's never been bellow 750 RP unless there was a reason (or a huge sale).
No matter what you say now, you can't undo the fact that this keeps being said
large player fan base
and do you know that it means that Riot gains back possibly twice what they worked on the skin. Really.
The real cost of a champion or skin being made would more likely be through the drawing stage. And that itself would only be around a $100 max to get the needed supplies. (Paper, pencils, and colors; these themselves can be found anywhere.)
Now, I'm not saying that this wouldn't stop a person from getting RP from a store. For a while. That being said because, that RP would possibly go to a cheap skin anyway that no one usually uses.
I also don't care about your "Free to Play" game story. You want to call LoL a Free to Play? Then why do I feel like I'd spend hundreds of dollars on this game rather than a flat $60 on another. You really think this is Free to Play when every other game (even ones that are like LoL) give more to the players.

All i'm hearing is "WWaaaaaaahhh I want free stuff Riot please you so greedy." Like damn dude, they have the right to charge for their products. Get over it. You wouldn't expect a grocery store to give you free food on your birthday, you wouldn't expect a game store to give you a free used game on your birthday, and you wouldn't expect a salon to give you a free haircut on your birthday. Riot is a company, and they need to make profit.
They're actually not as bad as other companies.
I'm not going to your level with the
All i'm hearing is "WWaaaaaaahhh I want free stuff Riot please you so greedy."
You also compare a gaming company to a grocery store (not the company)...
I'm not sure how much money you have or why your thoughts on a game being hospitable is such a terrible. Its not that I expect it but I'm just curious as to why Riot thinks the way they do about their products.
As for companies and how they sell things, have you seen the new store and the prices? $80 for a hoodie. $25 for a figurine.

They can sell their products for whatever they want. It's a free market. People can also decide not to buy the products because of the high prices, which could net Riot less profit than if they had lower prices.
Who would say no????
