Played a Kassadin vs Le Blanc mid

I, right away, got because... I don't want to be insta-killed by her oppressive power so with this and my passive, I was safe, right?

Wrong, she repeatedly kept dealing tons of damage on me. I couldn't lane at all.

She made fun of me all game, saying I was just feeding, and (I quote) said, "everyone with 0/4, put your hands up". I know that Kassadin doesn't have any power at all, but I was hoping while getting my build, I would survive for a while.

The thing is, though, she said "Kassadin counters Le Blanc".

Does (or can) Kassadin (still) counter Leblanc?
