LoL, I think my time with you is over.

I went cold turkey on playing the game a month and a half ago. I didn't like the way the meta was going and all of my games were impossible to enjoy. I couldn't even play with friends because they would all start to yell at each other and flame. I tried to play a game yesterday. I think staring at a wall for 30 minutes would have been more fun than playing a 30 minute game. It's less of game balance causing issues and more of the community and the team I was on making it not fun. Not because they fed, flamed, or that crap, but they all had this idea of "I am the only one who knows how to play this game right and my team is always terrible".

That's what really ruins it for me. The community. I can't play a moderately fun game with a terrible community. It's just not going to happen for me. I'm so fucking glad to leave the boards though. I swear this place is getting worse over time. The point in which aimlessly bitching about the way a ping is used gets 100+ upvotes is the point in which this place should be completely ignored by riot.

I don't regret playing this game, only the amount of time that I put into it. I wouldn't be the person I am now without this game.

My feelings toward riot are mutual. My feelings toward the community are pretty bad. My feelings towards the boards community are that you guys can go fuck yourselves.

I understand where you are coming from completely but I got a question for you: Are you trying to do anything to make it enjoyable for yourself?

I know there is not much to do in the way of stopping toxicity but I recommend just soloing or going with one friend, and declining when their friends join, and just muting everyone. Anything that is said, you cannot read, so you remain calmer for a longer time. It is only the actions of spam pings that would get you (Or maybe that one player who abandoned their lane because they went 0/2 when the turret fell) but if you solo the game for dozens of games, you might (Depends on your personality) be able to assess information better with no distractions.

I mean, the last bit works for me a bit better. I feel more obliged to follow up on a gank if my friend is the jungler then if he/she were not and not tell them to back off with a danger ping if the situation is not good, like I do not have the health to follow up, don't risk it.

As for the "I am the only one who knows how to play this game right and my team is always terrible" is what defines, what, silver and gold? A unrealistic recommendation is for you to get to plat and not be bothered with that attitude. Then you would to worry about players being bored stuck in plat and will try new champs that will cost you the game.

Anyway, I agree that the community sucks and Riot cannot do much to assist in the situation but you can try to lessen the toxicity.

Then again, all I can do is suggest things that work for me. With boards, I tend to type long and analytical responses like these, and thus it limits the troll responses I might have gotten if it were any shorter and contained any more simplicity. I usually don't respond to champ issues, as apparently, that is where most, or some, of the hardcore ragers on boards are. I tend to comment on post like these where it is more... opinionated.

If you wish to quit, that is perfectly fine. You won't miss the attitude that League of Legends has for your the upcoming years. I just hoped that, whenever you started, that you did have some fun before coming to this dead end.

Have a good.... hmm... a good retirement? A good quitting? A good... day? A good something. Just have a good something.

I completely agree with you that this community is very toxic. You just have to stay optimistic and block everyone who wants to be a jerk. If you join any CS:GO, Overwatch, or Heartstone stream and ask the streamer if they play league, they will most likely say something along the lines of that they once played but quit due to the toxic community.

The way I avoid this is just to be really, really optimistic. I rarely run into people like that, maybe only once or twice that I can remember. Not sure why I'm the only one though.
