Pretty disappointed in what I got in my Snowdown Shop...

I saw the other posts and was getting pretty excited. People were getting skins for the champions they wanted most - it was sounding like Riot did a great job.

I was a little worried because I had been spamming J4 and Caitlyn a fair bit in Poro King mode and already have a skin on each - but I was willing to buy a second skin if it was a great deal and one I liked because the ones I had bought were just the cheapest options for champions I played occasionally, and also hoped they wouldn't count plays in special game modes - at least that seemed to have been right.

I'd recently bought Gnar, and have played him almost exclusively on the rift since buying him (mostly teambuilder to be sure to learn him followed by a couple drafts, I think there's 1 caitlyn game mixed in with 13 Gnar games). Was REALLY hoping for a Gnar skin. I figured the mixture of recent buy plus lots of recent play would add up, but no luck.

So what drove my skins? Honestly, I have no idea - data from more than a year ago?

No joke, here's my result: Challenger Ahri (30%) Dynasty Ahri (50%) Pool Party Leona (60%) Pharaoh Amumu (60%) Ghost Bride Morgana (70%) Panda Annie (20%)

A quick analysis: Ahri is my third most mastered champion (and likely also third most played, but not recently). Only reason I'm not happy with two skin options on her is I've already bought Popstar - I liked it better when I bought it so why would I want a different one? Also, the last time I chose to play Ahri was Nov 22... My most mastered champion (Jinx, who I also have 1 skin on) I've played a lot more and have played more recently, so I'm not sure why Ahri got 2 and Jinx none.

Leona: Honestly happy to get a skin on her as I don't have one yet and was considering buying one. I just don't get how she showed up: I've only played her 11 times since the end of May! I avoid support whenever I can and have tried a large variety of support champions, so overall I doubt she's even one of my top 10 played champions...

Amumu: Another champion I'm okay with getting a skin on, but again no idea how he showed up. I've played 11 games on Amumu LIFETIME. Why is he here over Gnar, who I've played more games in the last 11 days on than I've played on Amumu LIFETIME? I only bought and started playing Amumu because I got frustrated with losing so many games on my main jungler (and main champion, second most mastered, Hecarim) in ranked and took a new jungler to finish the season and pull up to gold from silver 3. Yes, he served me well (although switching to J4 top and going 6-0 on him was more pivotal, so if it had to do with ranked it should have been J4) but I just don't expect to see a skin here... also the fact that Pharaoh was either recently half off or will be half off soon it's a shame for him to take up a 60% slot as a 520RP skin when the same skin has been 50% off and I ignored that sale already...

Morgana: I literally have 1 game since the mastery system on Morgana. 4 games since the end of August 2014. She was the first support I played. She was cheap, and I used her until I could afford some others. I'm not a huge fan of her, and really only use her as a counter to Leona now. I think this one is my biggest dissapointment - my big huge 70% discount is a skin on a champion I've played twice in the last year.

Annie: Have literally only ever played her in ARAM (and one co-op vs AI when I first bought her). She's there strictly as a cheap buy so I tried her. Not worth complaining about much since it's only a 20% discount anyways.

I don't mean to complain too much. I'm grateful for the sale, and excited for the Leona skin at least. I'm considering Amumu and might even consider Morgana just because the discount is so big and I don't have a skin on her, and sometimes my team may need an AP Damage support I guess (I really prefer tanky supports though).

I was expecting a Jinx, Ahri, and Hecarim skin. As much as I stopped playing Hecarim I thought a discount on Elderwood would bring me back to my old favourite champion. I already had my favourite skins on Jinx and Ahri and just hoped to either avoid them or have them land on the small spots. I was hoping for a Gnar skin and given that Leona/Amumu/Morgana/Annie showed up, Gnar should have been above all 4 of them unless the data used to determine sales was all done being collected before the shop opened (I expected it to be calculated when you opened the sale). I had corner hopes for a Veigar or Vayne skin but knew they were unlikely and fully expected Leona and Amumu above them (but not Morg or Annie).

Anyways, overall pretty disappointed. Riot, you'll get about 300RP out of me for Leona. There's a chance I'll give you another 200 for Amumu but honestly the skin choice doesn't seem that attractive to me. Small chance I'll also go for Morgana but I think it's unlikely. You could have gotten a lot more RP out of me with even 30-50% discounts on the right skins, so I guess we both lose out here :(

Anyways, have you looked at your shop? Did you like what you got, or were you disappointed? Do you think my hopes were just too high? Was I overhyped?
