Why are duo queues always doomed to lose?

I don't know what it is, but there seems to be this curse on duo queues that makes them lose EVERY. DAMN. GAME. Every once in a blue moon, I see a duo queue actually do well in the bot lane, but most of the time, they just get steam rolled.

Even when I, myself, am in a duo queue, I do distinctively worse then I would if I went solo. You would think playing with a friend helps you out, but it just seems to a bad omen whenever some says "duo bot with ____".

Does this happen in every elo? Or is it just bronze/silver? I want to let these people play together, but then I don't, because I know we are immediately at a greater chance of losing.

When it happened to my Duo it usually was because 4-5 ppl botlane camping while other laners weren't even able to get 1 tower.

No bot synergy, no coordination or not playing safe means that a bot duo can likely fail.

Same here. It's so bad I've given up on the notion of playing ranked with my wife :(

It doesn't help in my elo at all. My main is challenger on brazil , duos usually have good coordination

When I duo queue, I prefer going to a different lane than my partner.

That way we can help each other without us both falling if one of us stumbles.

Apparently duo queues get an mmr boost. So when you duo keep in mind that your opponents are a higher level than usual. You may be used to seing bronze 2+ but you may end up against silver 2+ this applys for everyone which makes it harder to win as a duo.
