What if Riot sold Skins from over 5 (or so) years ago for the IP amount value as well? But with restrictions

All skins being sold for IP must be under the 520 RP mark. Skins that are rare 520 RP will not be included.

They will cost around 1350 to 3150 each. Somewhere in between.

Reasons

There are over 250 skins now. That including rare and average skins.

Each skin costs $4 dollars (at least). That's at least a good $1,000 dollars in revenue for little cost to Riot.

Also, people will still use RP to buy skins. Considering the same goes for the Champion themselves.

Why not more expensive?

You already got the champion, you shouldn't spend the rest of your life trying to get 1 skin that costs $4 bucks by RP standards. Though getting 1350 IP isn't much either, even 3150 IP will not satisfy the old players with their large quantities. I think.

These are old skins Riot. Skins you yourself said you do not plan to update in the future. Skins that are outdated by newer, flashier ones that do more.

I honestly like quality more than quantity, but these skins don't get the quality they need until a champion update or such. Just a brush over on its lighting or color.

I would ask to the same about the Chromas, but those themselves should be a reward to the player... meaning that they should be available when a player reaches level 5 on Champion Mastery. These Chromas should cost the player to buy, though (to get rid of excess IP or to even spend RP for your pleasure Rito) they should stay in the 1350 to 3150 area.

Just to play devil's advocate, I would then like all my RP that I spent on those skins back since I can now buy them with IP.

It took you your whole life to get $4?

Nah - cosmetics is their money maker. They have everything you need to play for ip, game is totally free. It's okay to restrict cosmetic items to pure cash only deals.

You haven't provided a reason they should be doing do besides: you want free skin.

Now you come to a lesson and ask the teacher if you can join for free, since he would be giving lesson to other students anyway. The answer would be no, since he has nothing to gain.

While I would like that to happen, I doubt it will.

  • Most of those skins are ugly, bad and graphically outdated and Riot probably doesn't want to have them in games too often. (They won't take actions to reduce their appearance ingame but I doubt that they'll take actions to increase it).
  • People who have paid for those skins will claim refunds. If Riot does this, they lose money. If they don't, they make people angry. They can probably afford the loss of money, but why would they? What's in it for them?
