Have you had a champion that just fits you?

Kikirino·4/24/2015, 7:50:33 PM·11 votes·2,354 views

I have been looking for a main for a while but nothing seems to click. Strong or weak, win or lose I just find everyone to be so.... meh... when I play them. Yesterday I bought Ahri because I wanted a new champion but had no preference and alphabetically she was first. I don't play mid lane often but after my first match I realized love playing Ahri. I don't know what it is about her but her kit, playstyle and theme is so much fun. I don't care if I win or lose, I just really enjoy her.

I have been playing since preseason one and I have never had a champion click with me before and I own almost all of them. It is pretty sweet.

I play like a lil bitch, my shotcalling is good, and I got an A+ in geometry.

So Velkoz is my guy.

I really like playing Leona. You can be really lazy, mechanically, which gives you a lot more room to wage psychological peacefare (i.e. mediating when two teammates argue), focus on strategy and tactics, warding, and so on, WHILE still having a big impact if you know when and where to make your move and land your skillshots. Plus, you can spam your abilities pretty freely, and I'm a spammy kind of guy. Plus, if you don't like dying, Leona's pretty tanky, so you're more likely to make it out alive. Only disadvantages I can think of are that you can't deal damage by yourself (but why would you need to when your passive basically nukes the enemy when used properly anyways?) and you don't give side utility to your ADC, like haste/slow/heals. But I don't care about those when I can get right in the enemy's face, smack 'em with a sword and leave 'em unable to do anything, and have my ADC deal tons of damage.

This is going to shock a few people. I found Bard to really speak to me. After figuring out how to play him efficiently he's like that lovable guy who has your back. I get a little more thank you's and complements when I play Bard than any other support.

My first one was thresh, played him once on free week, started saving IP for him, he is my best by far bot lane. More recently it's been Zac. Bought him on a whim after transitioning to the jungle, I love that big blob. Now if only riot would make a decent skin for him...

FantasySniper4/25/2015, 2:03:37 AM3 votes

Jinx just plays so smoothly. Lulu is probably my best roflstomp champion, though, and I wish I played her more.

terkmc4/25/2015, 2:02:13 PM3 votes

Nautilus Such cc, much tanky, very slow. My play style is basically: "Bitch if i cant move in this god damn suit, none of you are!"

Azir is really fun IMO, and since his re-buffs he's actually viable now. He's really rewarding and if played right can be a monster.

That sounds like me with Garen. I've been playing him since season 1 and have never regretted it.

I really love playing tanky bruisers, characters with enough survivability to dive into the middle of the enemy team and enough damage to start laying about and beating people's faces in.

Fell in love with Vi almost instantly. Using Vault Breaker to get around was tons of fun once I got the hang of it, since she was the first champion I played with a real dash, and her ult is immensely satisfying to use.

For me it's Lulu and Janna. They have some of everything; shields, speed, hard CC, slows, heals... What more could a support possibly wish for? My entire goal in a game is to save as many people as possible, and they're just perfect for that.

But mainly it's the fact that both have hilarious quirky personalities (Forecast Janna, only Janna skin I'll ever use) that make playing them a blast, win or lose.

I have many that fit and use often but ill use Volibear. They usually follow this sort of criteria.

  1. I want my champions to be intimidating, none that yordle crap.
  • He is a fucking lightning bear.
  1. Tank. I tend to be best at soaking damage and causing havok in fights, think Trundle Nautilus Fiddlesticks type champions.
  • Volibear builds health and his passive is just amazing, I find people igniting me well before it goes off, I find myself tanking an entire team while doing large amounts of damage, so yeah. Need someone who can take some hits. And give him item 3065 and item 3083 oh god it is beautiful.
  1. CC Kind of relates to the above, but if my champion can't really do CC I just don't play them.

Voli has the Q flip and the E aoe slow

Don't know if I explained right but I like my champions to fit my playstyle with the game, I want to be able to dive teams but I want to make sure I am a force to be reckoned with. They WILL die if they ignore me, but at the same time my passive keeps me around long enough to at least execute the carry, or allow my team to kill them too. Or shit sometimes I just 1v3 them without a hitch, and Voli just does it so well.

Malzahar and Heimerdinger and Azir : Sit back and let your soldiers/turrets/visions do the farming for you. Easiest farmers NA. Amumu : Though I found him depressing at first, since he hurts enemies by raining tears, all it took was playing him for a little while for me to change my mind. Probably the coolest, most unique character in the game. Plus, he has the best skin in the game, Surprise Party Amumu. Graves : An ADC tanky enough to weather my mistakes, and bursty enough that even I can snowball if I play him correctly? Finally, an ADC that speaks to me. Nautilus : A tanky support whose kit is nothing but CC? Good luck getting away from me and my ADC. Lissandra : The Queen of CC top/mid lane. Has a built in Zhonyas with her ult. Easy ranged poke with Q. Mana-free abilities every so often. Easy disengage with W when opponents go in. Gap closer and escape tool with E. Gank me? Think again. Warwick (Pre-Nerf) and Vi : Easy clears. Can solo dragon easily. Point-and-click ult that is often a guaranteed kill. And for Vi, just insane damage and the easiest ganks in the game with Q and ult. MonkeyKing : Built in armor and magic resistance that scales with how many enemies are around you? A Q that shreds armor. A W that allows for jukes and unexpected engages? An E that's a multi-target gap closer? And an ult that's an AOE knock-up? There is so much you can do with this guy, and so many ways you can build him. Top/jungle/mid. Tank/fighter/assassin. I love it. Garen : My main. A silence which doubles as a speed boost. An E that, coupled with Sunfire Cape, gives you one of the fastest wave clears top lane. And crazy HP regen which, together with his W, makes him almost impossible to kill when ahead and/or fed. Darius : True damage ult with a temporary reset on a kill, and a full reset with 3 points in it? A hook to reel in fleeing enemies? A ranged poke with Q? His bleed passive, which is often enough to kill people on its own even without ult? Plus another of the best skins in the game, Dunkmaster Darius? Hell yes!

That about covers the ones that "fit" me the most.

Truly Prideful4/25/2015, 9:16:37 PM1 votes

Ashe then Velkoz once he was released. Ashe was and still is my favorite AD to play because she plays so smoothly to me and feels rewarding to play well. Vel'koz I spammed nonstop when he came out. I'll play him wherever, he never gets old.

Aych Pii4/25/2015, 9:21:01 PM1 votes

Malphite and Nautilus. Both are very tanky, put out a significant AoE damage threat, have some of the most potent CC in the game, and are mobile enough to survive. I literally couldn't want more from a champion.

This week I decided to branch out and try new roles/champs while it's still early. I tried Ahri mid and it didn't click for me. Then I tried Lux and it was like a perfect match.

When I started playing league I had a previous experience on my husbands account from when we were just dateing. My first main came from playing bots on his account. I played Nidalee for 3 years up until this current season now. I try to main Lissandra now but she's banned pretty often when I play sadly.

The first champ that clicked with me was Rek'Sai before all the nerfs to her q. Her tunneling aspect just really made her appeal to me

For me it was Diana

I had been sucking at jungling for ages, it was my worst role by far. Then for some reason I really wanted to try Diana and immediately felt that she just worked with me. She's now my most played champion, and my only real jungler.

High risk, high reward. It's also really satisfying to juke skillshots with your E.

Ever since Viktor was released he's been like my spirit animal...cyborg. Up until recently when some pro played him I had never seen anyone else play him but me, so it felt like he was made for me specifically. My own hidden OP champion I could always rely on and never fear him being banned, and since no one knew what he did he was even stronger. When I get fed I can 1v2 or even 1v3 and win. My proudest moment was when I was ambushed 4v1 and I lived with a quadrakill. It was 20 minutes into the game so they instantly surrendered and called Viktor OP.

Pikmints4/25/2015, 3:32:46 PM1 votes

Basically, you gotta find a champ that matches your preferred play style. Here are some examples of champs I like and how they match my preferred play style.

Nasus When it comes to top lane, I like playing on the defensive while having farming as my highest priority. That's why I like Nasus as he can farm under turret with his Q easily, build tank and still do damage from any of the sheen passives, and stave off death in lane (especially tower dives) with his W, R, and passive lifesteal.

Malzahar When I picked up mid lane, getting good at farming was priority #1. With Malzahar's E, I was able to farm safely even if I was losing lane, and I loved the utility/damage that his W+R combo dealt especially if you have a teammate nearby. Let alone that he is a great counter to Yasuo who was popular at the time I picked up Malz.

Janna Support was the first role I picked up and is the one i main today. I can't really explain why Janna is my preferred support sadly enough. She has been known as the queen of peel, and I've picked up a few tricks like shielding allies as a projectile is already flying at them and landing a quick gale on 3 people at once.

Udyr I've always liked druid/shaman style characters. In any role-playing game they're my go to classes. If he actually shape shifted into his stance animals, I would never play another champion ever again.

Handin Out Naps4/25/2015, 4:21:23 PM1 votes

Mine was Zed , now before I get castrated for saying this, I started playing zed a year ago back when people would question why the fuck you are picking zed. I just liked the jukes and the shadows seemed so fun. pls no h8 :(

Karma I've mained her since about last November I think? Idk, her Buddhism theme, her unique play style, her lore, I just love everything about her. She is such a unique and fun champ, it was a rocky road to mastering her but she is so rewarding.

Shurima God4/25/2015, 4:23:46 PM1 votes

Diana For some reason this champ really clicked with me. The first thing I did when I started playing was save up my ip. got 6300 ip and bought Diana cause I liked the splash art and lore. She was very easy for me and provided fast pace gameplay. I could go full ap burst or bruiser diana and both did well. Diana carried me from bronze 5 to silver in season 4 and is currently getting me near gold this season.

Gwellaouen4/25/2015, 5:36:43 PM1 votes

I think the first champ that click to me was Wukong. It was after I've played all in bot lane before level 30.

I love his mechanics and it click with my playstyle. I can go all tanky or all fighter and still be good. I have tried Wukong support in URF and I love to use his w. Hilarious.

I should play more top lane too tough. For this reason, I can't practice with him a lot. In ARAM, for example, I am a beast as Wukong. It's so fun ! ^^

I love Janna, Shen and recently Quinn too. But really, I think Wukong will stay on the top for me.

I think Brand is freaking awesome. Just started using him and boy is he fun. I like playing passive and careful. I feel with him you can safely farm and level near turret but he also had the ability to wreck your shit with AP if you get close to him. He deals lots of damage and his great in teamfights. Ive played and practiced with fiddle, lux, hiemerdinger, and renekton. I think brands the one i enjoy playing the most.
