I have read more than a fair share of shitty placement results and it makes me hesitant to do them. I ended the season in Gold 1 and ended the preseason in Plat 4.
Is there any chance I would be placed in Silver after placements? I probably would stop playing ranked if I got put there...

I ended Diamond V, went 4-6 in placements and got into plat III which was pretty much normal imo. I've been hearing a lot of horror stories about people dropping a lot also but I have a suspicion many of those people tanked their MMR in preseason.
If u improved ur MMR during preseason u will be fine. I ended season as G-v, and ended preseason in G-2 on a 13-1 winning streak. I went 6-4 in my placements and got placed in G-3, earning 32-35 per win. I won 6 games in a row (4 rankeds, then 2 promos) and skipped G-2 straight into G1. Still earning 30 lp per win and unsuccessful at my first attempt in plat promos. A lot of people are done with their placements and are raging about where they have been placed. I'd get a duo and do your placements that way. Be super friendly, pray for your carry role and GL!
