You're ___________ because you belong in __________.

You're Bronze, because you belong in Bronze You're Silver, because you belong in Silver. You're Gold, because you belong in Gold. You're Platinum, because you belong in Platinum. You're Diamond, because you belong in Diamond. You're Master, because you belong in Master. You're Challenger, because you belong in Challenger.

(Unless of course you're boosted, which will just get you banned in the end)

You are where you are because of your skill, and you will stay where you are till you improve your play. This whole "But feeders/afks/trolls hold me back" No, you hold yourself back, you refuse to improve and any time someone else makes a mistake you use that as an excuse as to why you lost. Not even looking back and thinking about how YOU could have done better/improved, because you are NOT perfect, not even LCS players.

Everyone makes mistakes, but the best players learn from them and improve.

I hate these posts because they completely ignore chance

You're fat because you belong in weight watchers..?

Now that they implemented the series forgiveness, I'm willing to give this more credence. But this post is like telling a Millionaire saying they got rich by hard work alone.

Timing, skill set, and meta are all going to effect people rising and falling. If you hate playing tanks, in a tank meta, you're already down a peg. More than just skill factors into it. And I'd wager the biggest influence on climbing or not had more to do with your decision making than with skill. The game has 4 buttons. Skill has a low ceiling.

It's effort, decision making, and preparation that allow people to climb.

Then how did someone that's as bad as me at this game made it to diamond? I honestly feel like my skill level isn't that high. I have no map awareness, average decision making, average gameknowledge, and my CSing is super bad. I have so much I can improve on, yet I am top ~3% right now (currently sitting at Plat 2 because I don't play that much). I think it goes more like this:

You're Bronze/Silver/Gold, because you're too lazy to seriously try.

Thank you! I'm currently bronze because I'm bad at doing my own shot calling and I'm only mechanically decent. In other words, it's my fault. Sure I've had feeders, trolls, and AFK's the the majority of my games have been normal and we lost to a team that was simply better. instead of complaining that it's everyone elses fault and I really deserve challenjour, I'll get better so I can climb out.

Actually, low elo rewards lack of skill to a considerable extent.

Promotes abuse of Riot's poor balancing.

Gold and above game knowledge is required.

Plats and above still struggle in Silver or Bronze.

Yes, skill and knowledge are needed. But lack of it is rewarded too, at least low elo. Seen people in Gold or Silver last season who shouldnt have been there. Seen Silvers this season who cant position well.

Due to the inconsistencies, it cant be just said skill alone gets u out of at least the 2 lowest. However, it does play a role in it, especially in being efficient.

Well said.

And for anyone who is trying to find a way to overcome the 'elo hell' mindset, here's the advice I posted a while back: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/Xp3EhQMY-advice-for-enjoying-and-succeeding-at-ranked-play

I would agree if someone giving up 5 kills to a Riven, Yi, Xin, [insert snowbally champ here]. before 5 minutes didn't mean anything... but it does. That person then has global pressure, any lane they appear in is either dead or is pushed back to base. 5 kills means they are unstoppable and can 2 shot you, unless of course you are equally fed. I try to rally the troops but when 1 person is just feeding hard, it becomes a 4v6 and when this happens early on in the game you lose so much more and can do nothing about it. Turrets are made of paper and shoot cotton balls, so they are no help against someone who is 5+ kills ahead of everyone. If you make it to mid game, you have a chance but only if they make a mistake because by then the enemy team has triple your kills and dragons.

Basically when someone feeds, 80% of the time its over. You can try to shot call, but this is Low Elo, no one is going to listen. You can try to split, you can kill the carries, you can take objectives, but ultimately unless you can 1v5 and take all objectives by yourself, chances are high you lost at 5-10 minutes.

Not saying I am Challenger, I probably belong in Silver, what I am saying is either majority of my teammates need to be dropped to Bronze or let me rise out of this garbage... Sometimes its me who loses the game for us, I end up giving away a few kills to someone I shouldn't have or I make a bad call that costs us. Sometimes you just lose, either their team comp was better or their judgment calls were better. However, the losses due to a teammate feeding to the point it seems intentionally or I have 1 or 2 AFK's or my teammates just flat out ignore my calls, vastly out number my "legitimate" losses. I pride myself on my ability to pick out which loss is which, I don't get angry or mad when I legit lose, im upset i didnt play better obviously but there is no frustration at the game. The games where there was never a chance and it seems like it was just pure chance i happen to get the feeder instead of the enemy team, that is where the frustration comes from.

Currently the fact that silver is filled with gold is holding me back since gold is where my skill level is lol.
