I Have Some Questions About Ranked MMR And Duo Queue.

So im not new to Ranked, but i have had a few questions that my own research didnt answer or im just not sure about how correct the information is.

Ok so my first question is about MMR: Why is it invisible to us?

Im not sure why we cant see it, but i am sure there are reasons i just cant figure them out. Im just curious about it because i get placed with and against players that are clearly better or worse then everyone else. I feel that if i could see mine and their MMR i would better understand why i am being placed with them.

This one is related to the first question: Does my individual skills effect my MMR beyond winning or losing?

So i tend to get decent KDA's and my CS is meh but its not always bad. Im kind of curious if these have any effect on MMR, also if how many wards you placed and how much gold you gain.

This one is about Duo Queue: How does Duo Queue effect MMR?

Does Duoing with a friend have any effect on MMR, if so is it big or small. When i play Solo Queue the teams are usually pretty balanced, but when i Duo it seems the teams are really out of balance with people performing well beyond and below the others. Is this my imagination or is this an effect of Duo Queue. Lately ive been Duo Queuing with a friend who is way higher ranked them me, i still perform roughly the same as i do in Solo or with my other friend who is lower ranked then me. I am winning more with him then Solo or with my other friends purely because my team actually knows what to do in certain situations which is incredibly helpful. The problem is it feels like im being carried even i still perform roughly the same (if not better), is Duoing with a higher ranked friend hurting or helping me? and is it hurting or helping him? If it is hurting his rise up then i will stop Duoing with him.

This one is about skipping Divisions: According to OP.GG my MMR is above the average for my league, will i skip a lot of divisions if this keeps up?

I know about skipping Divisions because it has happened to me before, but what i really want to know is how fast can i rise by skipping if i continue winning. Like say i win the next 3-4 games (im maybe 1 game from my promos into Silver 4) will i skip to Silver 3 then if i win say another 4ish and then win those promos will i skip to Silver 1 or is it possible to skip into Gold 5?

Ok thats all i have for now, i appreciate any information that you can give specially if a Red comes and clears some stuff up for me :) Thank You for reading.

I honestly don't know why you can't see your own MMR, and what the breakpoints are for the different divisions/tiers. IMO it would remove a lot of misunderstandings that people have about how Ranked works.

In terms of other players, their division is a pretty good estimate of their MMR without getting super-specific. The vast, vast majority of players in a particular division are pretty close in MMR.

No, nothing matters except whether you win or lose. If it did, Riot would be implicitly rewarding certain playstyles and/or strategies.

This one is about Duo Queue: How does Duo Queue effect MMR?

When you group queue, the matchmaker "averages" the MMRs of the players in the group (not a straight arithmetic mean, although the exact formula is not known), then adds a bonus based on the group size due to the assumed better communication and coordination. Then it takes that adjusted MMR and tries to match you up with other groups and/or solo players around the same rating.

If there is a big gap in skill between the players, probably the higher-ranked player is gaining less MMR per win and losing more per loss, since the enemy team has a lower average MMR than their personal MMR. Conversely, the lower-ranked player(s) are going to gain more MMR per win and lose less per loss. But it shouldn't be a huge factor.

Sites like OP.GG are, to put it bluntly, making numbers up out of thin air. They don't know your MMR any more than you do.

If you're gaining a large amount of LP per win and not losing much per loss (like going +25/-10), then your MMR is way above where it "should" be for your division. In this case you may skip one or more divisions when you promote. But you have to be winning a lot to do this, or else get unlucky with promos multiple times despite having a good win rate.
