Really gotta wonder..

How the fuck Riot can con anyone into believing they do anything for the sake of their game, and not for money. The shit they do, the terrible level of quality, the amount of time it takes them to do even the simplest things, the lack of developer communication about anything outside of PR stunts, the wonderful level of "balance" that is just so readily apparent, the fact that they're F2P in the first place...

Really gotta wonder how Riot manages to convince people they give a damn.

I mean. Weekly public Q&As with the lead designer on their philosophy and for every champion release, a F2P model where you cannot buy in-game advantages in any way. Multiple Rioters post on the boards and on twitter to help improve Riot's rapport with the community

You can tell they work hard to balance this game and to show that they're working hard.

There are parts here and there that are issues (the game's MASSIVELY snowbally nature as of right now and the extreme polarization of ADCs is really putting off my friends and I) but Riot'll learn their lessons from this season. The next season is coming up pretty soon.

That's our salvation to be honest. Season 6 has been the most turbulent, volatile and consistently hellish in all my time playing this game. But I think that's because Riot's taking some radical steps to overhaul the game. We'll just have to wait until the dust settles, my dude.

Weekly PR stunts that really don't show any insight to anything that matters, and instead they answer questions that are really just silly -- let's also not forget that this is a new thing.

Just the fact that the game is F2P speaks volumes about Riot as a company, and Beck as a person. F2P is not a model that you go if you want to make your game the best it can be, it's the model you go when you just want money. Not going to write an entire paper about F2P, so just go look through my history --- you'll find plenty.

And yet, no one who actually works in development says a word. All we get are artists or PR people, no one who actually works on the game itself. When's the last time you ever saw Beck say anything important?

No, I can tell they're hardly putting in any effort. In a game with as small a scope as League, any changes to the game would be trivial, and take very little time at all. Yet, despite being one of the most profitable companies in the industry, they take months to do the simplest of changes, and outright refuse to nerf champions that need it because they make money or got a new skin.

Zed, for example, was pick or ban for months. What did they do? They buffed him.

Ashe is ridiculously strong, and has been for a long time now, and they're just now changing her -- and they're nerfing the parts of her that aren't even the problem.

Riot has hated Yorick for years now, but they're just now getting to reworking him. (When, for any competent company, it'd take a couple weeks at most on an 8 hour shift)

But I think that's because Riot's taking some radical steps to overhaul the game.

Or, they're seeing how much bullshit they can pull before people call it quits.
