Kayn, Edgelords, and the distance from World War 1
I have a fairly safe theory that the world is cycling between chaos and order. After the lunacy of World War 1, and it's creationg of WW2, the world had favored order. With countless dead in the trenches of France for no reason anyone could rationalize, the world realized we needed order. It had seen what nationalism and Real Politic had done, and everyone agreed that it was stupid. But 100 years later we've forgotten chaos's carnage, and we only see orders inequity. So we choose chaos.
I hate edgelords as much as the next guy, but I'm wondering if, after the next great war we're tripping into, that Order-mongers will be just as bad then as edgelords are now? Just a thought.
