Tip: Choose your friends wisely.

I posted a reply on a thread about a month ago. The OP was complaining about being ''stuck in Bronze 2'' or something. Which is something we all get at some point: We get stuck in that one division and can't seem to move past it.

Well, that reply I posted was saying something similar: I was stuck in Gold 5. I could not for the life of me get above that, and was just good enough to stay above Silver 1.

In the past week, I went from Gold 5 0LP 48% winrate to Gold 3 with a 50% winrate. How? I stopped playing with my Plat 5 real life friend. He was toxic, made me tilt, and can't get out of PLat 5 because he simply isn't good enough for it yet. And the last time I played with him, he rage quit after feeding 7 kills as our adc. So I stopped playing with him. I just climbed 2 divisions since.

So even though he is my friend in real life, I don't tell him when I play. I don't invite him. I would rather soloQ in DynQ, and be poised and focused than play with him. And that paid off so far.

So choose your league partners with care.

That really is the only way to climb, having a good partner or partners. Which really sucks if you have a schedule that makes it hard to do so.

I'd say my biggest problem with this is not the whole playing with friends thing. I should not have to play with a friend(or play solo) to get out of my ELO. I should be matched with like skilled players so that the games are even. I am only Silver 4 which is the rank that I'm currently stuck at(bouncing from S5-S4 constantly) I should not be stuck with a bunch of new players at B5-B3 and be forced to carry them, and I should not be playing against Gold rank players(which I am a lot) and have to somehow play at a higher skill level then I am currently at. If I am at a silver 4 rank, i should play with other people at that skill level. Majority of players in League are between the ranks of Bronze-Plat I would say and making a system to match me with people who are actually at my skill level would not be difficult. The only thing that would be difficult is if I was at a higher rank where there are less people at that skill level, ie. Diamond and Master and so on.
