Alright everyone... you beat me. I give up in my defense of Riot.

Riot, I love you. And I love everything you do. I've been able to survive the onslaught of hatred and anger thrown at you throughout the years. And yes, I am guilty of white knighting Riot Games. I did it, because I knew that in the end I could trust you to make the right choice. But I just... I can't anymore. I made a post asking someone to send me a link to the balance changes, and a few people did. I wanted it so I could fully know that my ironclad defense of you was right. And I did read the balance changes. I managed to get through all of the four champions you listed as juggernauts, and read through all the changes. I managed to be happy while reading them, thinking that I could try to have fun with the new champions. But I was secretly dreading some of the changes. (Darius almost broke my heart when I first read it.) But I managed to get through it optimistically like I always do. Then I read the uh... the armor "changes." Then I read the buffs to Nasus, Zed, and Lee Sin. I... I don't even know what to say. For five solid years I have tried to defend you at every turn. And for five years, I have outlasted every single post. But I just can't anymore. Reading all these posts on the front page breaks my heart. Because it made my worst fears become realized. The community feels like you let them down. Not all of them, but a good majority seem to think so. Am I going to quit League? No. I'm going to keep playing and love it. But I can't try to defend you anymore Riot. It makes me genuinely saddened that I feel that I can't do anything anymore. I'm sorry Riot, I've let you down.

I can only hope that this whole thing blows over in a couple of days, but until then, I think I'll just take a break from the Boards for a while...

In all honesty Riot does not need to be defended. They will make their changes, and possibly their mistakes, and keep on rolling regardless of how people feel.

They are willing to make mistakes for the sake of progress. Our job is to offer our opinions (preferably in a constructive manner) and to try and break the game with the tools Riot provides us. This is particularly important when it comes to stuff that has been put on the PBE.

Riot has both let us down and exceeded our expectations before, so these coming changes are really nothing new. It's impossible to make everyone happy, and personally I'm loving these changes, however I trust that Riot is at least thinking of the long term implications here.

Honestly, you get good changes, and you get bad changes. These are just a lot of bad changes. However, we do get a bunch of good skins, so there's something good. And the armor changes will most likely be reverted at some point.

Nasus already gets an increase in attack range from Q, the thing on the PBE is just a tooltip update(that means it actually says it does that now). Darius deserved to get his laning dominance nerfed. He wasn't gutted though, he's still strong. The armor changes - yeah, don't know what to think about that. Armor was kind of cheap but let's not forget item 3035 exists. Zed - he got the 1 second timer on ult recast a month ago, it's still a nerf to what it was a before that. Lee Sin - Dem worlds plays. Mordekaiser - This is actually very interesting, I say we wait until it hits live and then see how it works out. Garen - The Q nerf was kinda expected.
