does anyone know what are the conditions for a 'loss prevented'

Ever since i started playing better, warding, having higher cs, making better decisions and plays, i started getting bothered when i lose games for silly reasons like an afk, or someone's internet connection who kept dc and reconnect every 50 seconds.

I think of previous games where i lost so much lp for similar instances.

I want to see loss preventions more often. When it is fair to give one,

Take this as an example, out adc is afk since lvl1 for 24 minutes, at this point we have lost 5 turrets , 2 dragons and although our top laner and our bot lane of malphite/udyr(thats me, i was originally jungler) is doing ok considering we have to face a jinx and a nidalle.

Then at 24 minutes lucian reconnects at lvl1 amd starts playing, at this point the enemy team is so far ahead in objectives amd gold, they have taken so much from us and it's a certain loss. I politely ask lucian to go afk as this may make it loss prevented. He starts harrasing me and throwing f bombs. He keeps harassing the whole team so does to the enemies who killed him.

This games ends a few minutes later and after so many surrender votes failed.

I lost 15 lp and ofcourse no loss prevented for that one.

I think it would be fair if it was prevented. It makes sense, noone can come back from this deficit and to all those who say that 4 v5 is possible i can tell you that yes it is. I have won a 3v5! The thing is that not all enemies are bad, some people know how to snowball and a 4 v5 for 23 minutes should be a loss prevented.

Loss Prevented is turned on in the case of server-side connection issues, and only in the case of server-side connection issues.

It's also only activated at full scale - not for individual matches. Basically, either everyone's getting Loss Prevented, or nobody is.

Fair enough, thanks for the info! But on riot's part i think in case of long time afks it should be given

I agree, there have been several times on a wide scale loss prevented that no one, not even the enemy team suffered connection issues and I walk away with 8lp. But there have been tons of times when I have an afk on my team from level 1, or someone rage quits after first first blood, making it a 4v5 for 30+ minutes. I have had times where I have had to leave mid game for something in real life that was not expected, just to log back in a couple hours later to find que delay or ban ( before que delay ). It's pretty obvious Riot knows when someone afk's due to leaverbuster, I just don't understand why so many games and promo series have to be lost because of this and yet there is not a loss prevented activated or some form of compensation. They know the person afk'd cause they get penalized immediately, yet no compensation is offered for the countless times it forces people to lose a game.

It's simple... Loss Prevented actually harms the integrity of the ranking system by making it so that LP in != LP out. So they only do it for THEIR problems so as to minimize the impact it has overall.
