I'm confused what did tryndamere do?
Its a thing where tryndamere just splitpushes and doesn't hit enemy champions at all. He ends up with a score like 0/12/0.
Oh good, people pointing out what a stupid design Tryndamere has at last.
Maybe now he can get a rework.
To actually answer your question, KBVTV started it.
I think it was his AP Thresh mid video that got him popular on reddit, which got his subsequent videos traction.
To be honest, they are funny, but the builds clearly aren't serious, especially in the case of Zero Damage Tryndamere. That's actually assisting the enemy team, so it's punishable.
I encountered two of these.

The actual strategy is legit. With your ult you can take towers, screw getting kills. But I had one in my game that I reported because he could have easily gotten kills when we ganked top lane and he didn't. He let our teammates die. When he found out he accidentally did damage he quit. The point of no damage tryndamere isn't to do no damage... it's to adopt a playstyle similar to singed, where you KDA doesn't matter because you're focusing on objectives. These copycats are just idiots and don't understand it
