Can someone please explain to me why some champs have total Ad ratios on their abilities?

I noticed some carries Ratios (like Quinn) have changed from bonus AD scaling to Total AD, but don't understand why.

I understand that gnar gets bonus base ad when mega, and that contributes to his total ad ratios, similar to mordakiser, and they are likely to build sterak's, but why would a champ like Quinn need total Ad ratios? she doesnt have a spell that scales with it like ezreal etc..

So that the abilities get stronger based on level. it is another way to gate when things are strong and when they are weak. When you get a total AD ratio, your base damage tends to be lower and Total AD ratios also tend to be lower than Bonus AD ratios.

ok yea that makes sense.

you don't have to rank it up for the damage to increase because it goes by level mostly.

edit: now i jsut realized that ranking quinns Q also increases the ad ratios as well. so i guess my question is most specifically about quinn now XD
