From what I saw in the video, I expect this guy to have the ability to carry allies inside of him as well as to eat enemies. And he may be more powerful while in the river.

That would be extremly cool but he feels like when something enters it doesnt come out...

Mørii3 votes

I think that maybe he will have an ability similar to Thresh's lantern, where he sticks his tongue out, and allies can click on it to hitch a ride from him.

RangoTangoGanko1 votes

At the price of allies giving 4% of current health it stats for him to help there is a price it makes sense to do that.

Dude, don't tell me they reworked TF to be the guy who made the deal. Lawd.

That wouldnt be a rework, it would be more like adding more backstory for him Kinda like Urgot and Jarvans lore add backstory to garen or like Aatrox explains how Tryndamere became what he is So it won't affect him in anyway I believe

What I do believe is that this guy might be related to the disappearance of Fizz's race

Ariel the Cruel3 votes

That wouldnt be a rework

Riot's interpretation of "rework" can be rather drastic at times. Karma

VultureGamer2 votes

Yhy, if all of those race's members were so unbalanced like Fizz Tamm and his friends would died instead :\

Gotta start off by saying way to go RITO. Never thought there would be a Louisiana inspired champion and I am damn proud for there to be one being that I'm from Louisiana myself. Proud to have a Cajun champion ;)

The real reason for this post, however, is that I feel like his abilities are all laid out in the teaser.

  1. He's a siren of sorts. In Greek mythology, a siren's song is something that no man can resist. Hence, I believe he'll have an ability that is a song that either taunts or charms. Would be interesting as a charm because as of now Ahri is the only one on the Rift who has a charm.

  2. The big mouth I believe is the ability to carry allies/eat opponents. It can perhaps be used to carry allies to safety or to deal massive damage to an enemy. I believe this will be his main damage output.

  3. He speaks of making deals. Maybe an ability like TF's "W" that relies upon the player to press the key again to choose the right "deal" of sorts. Either that or it could be his passive...to "strike a deal" with an ally similar to Kalista. But I'm just making guesses here.

  4. He speaks of having been everywhere in the river and his ability to go back there. Maybe an ultimate similar to that of TF's, except he can only go to places in the river. However, he says "The world is a river, and I am its king. Ain't no place I ain't been. Ain't no place I can't go again." In this case he might have an ultimate almost identical to TF's where he can TP to any location he's been prior.

  5. His passive may have to do with the fact that he's a "River King". Meaning his strength relies upon the river. Maybe a movement speed buff, perhaps a damage buff, a tankiness buff, or (my personal favorite) perhaps an invisibility of sorts. This thought comes from the fact he was in the river the entire time the video was happening and no one had a clue until the end.

Just a thought, but seems pretty viable.

Was going to post something like this! Good job. You noticed some things I didn't. Also there is a mention of "Can you free me of this BIND?" so maybe he has good tenacity or has some sort of anti cc ability.

BoobyTheMexi1 votes

I would agree, but after watching again he states that the YOUTH (gambler) asked, "can you carry me from this bind?". I think that furthers my point on Tamm's ability to carry allies out of a tight situation.

Carl Fredrickson1 votes

Something else that interests me is that it definitely sounds like he will have the ability to assist another champion. The only thing is that champion pays a price to be assisted by TAMM. I wonder how they could develop that dynamic.

MCloud2201 votes

A river buff sounds like a good idea but every champion currently made can be played in any map, twisted tree, aram etc if TAMM gets a buff from being in the river then that's only ideal in Summoners rift because that's the only map with a river

ChaosCode3 votes

It would be cool if it was a rift scuddler remake, like an aggressive monster when you walk into the river??

i totally agree its obviously a new champion ...... but i think all of the random guessing on his abilities is pointless hes gonna be a fat tank xD deal with it not to mention its gonna talke like two years concidering they released that early ekko took three weeks and he was already half done think about it xD

Jellycake Demon3 votes

From what i've seen with the most recent of released Champions we have: Azir = Mage. Kalista = Marksmen. RekSai = Fighter. Bard = Support. Ekko = Assassin. All we're missing now is a new Tank Class Champion, if this Tamm is a legit Champion**_ (which i really am hoping it is & not a internet troll)** then it's most likely so that he is gonna be the newest Tank. as for his role Tanks are usually given either the Top Lane or Jungle position **(rarely getting Bot lane as a "supportive" champion...& going by his personality in the video i doubt Tamm is the supportive type)_**.

Now going by Tamm's appearance alone (from what we can see in the drawings on the pages in the video) & from what we see of his personality in the Video me personally he might be a Roaming Melee AD Tank Jungler that could be a Top Laner that has incredible survivability by means eating everything in his path to maintain his Health & give him self-Buffs rather than just being bulky.

I'm just gonna rattle off what his Abilities could be: Q-Ability: Lurk/Gulp. [think Rek'Sai Burrow Ability but he remains "underground" for a limited amount of time but he is Invisible, at the end of the Lurk's duration or on his next Auto-Attack Tamm erupts from the ground dealing Physical Damage to all enemies in a small radius while also Healing himself by a small amount per enemy Hit. if he kills an enemy with the Gulp the Heal is doubled & he gains a small Buff for a short time] Thoughts Why this Might Work: having a tank that can go Invisible & be able to sneak up on target & then erupt out of nowhere & then start disrupting the enemy team could be a powerful Initiate or a way to clean up large team fights.

W-Ability: Slurp Down. (in the Video if you look closely Tamm has a long tongue that he seems to use to pull victims in) [this could either be a Skill-Shot or a Point-Click that has Tamm pull a target into his mouth where the Target is Stunned for a brief moment after being dealt Physical Damage, for the duration of the Stun the target remains in Tamm's mouth & he can move around while he has that Stunned target but that enemy will be Untargetable for the duration. at the end of the Stun Tamm spits out the target dealing either additional Physical Damage or dealing Magic Damage] Thoughts Why this Might Work: Tamm could use this to take out an important player on the enemy team or snatch up a fleeing enemy & take the target to Tamm's team to gang up on the target or allow Tamm to wail on the target after spiting the target up. disruption & crowed control.

i'm gonna stop right here with the Abilities, but if you think i'm on to something or have a comment about these Abilities then please Reply.

Don't know if you are on the right path but please do continue, I like reading theories ^^

I would put the swallowing of enemies able to work on allies aswell to keep them safe for a while (Like kalistas ulti) In genral I imagine a mix of the following: Nunus buff gaining minion eating or chogath ulti, some kind of mix between blitz pull and skarner ulti, a gap closer ala gragas and an Aoe charm, given the things shown on the teaser

PS: it's official, riot put it on their page

Jellycake Demon1 votes

actually Gnar is a Fighter/Marksmen not a Tank.

urmexicanfriend2 votes

I think for the first skin they should make him, Gentleman Tamm. Like they did with chogath

Noctius282 votes

I'd say his base skin is already gentleman Tamm, he has a top hat ffs XD But given the time I would say his release skin might be pool party Tamm

Ironclad Dragon2 votes

THAT HAT LOOKS PIMPING.

And it seems we're getting a tried-and-true "crossroads of life" demon. Not an ancient war god, not a cosmic horror that otherwise fits the bill, not a fallen angel; but a sly, smooth-talking deal-maker.

Arcus Diabolus2 votes

Anyway, that top hat probably sealed the deal for me... I swear to god, if his taunt isn't a tip of the hat, I'll be so disappointed.

He also needs to share the "Nom nom nom" quote from gentleman cho gath.

I hope Tamm is Support or a Top lane, Jungle

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Why not both? :P

Why not both? :P

The ability being useless without another player makes it useless for top and I find that bad since I like top, my favorite abandoned island

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Abilities dont have be only offensive or defensive(Lulu's E .old Sorakas E...).

Noctius281 votes

How would you make threshs lantern be usefull alone? it doesnt affect the enemy, it's purely team based soraka or lulu at least can damage or buff themselfs with those abilites

PokladnicaZla1 votes

It gives a shield/s and vision.

Noctius281 votes

It gives a shield/s and vision.

not a good enough ability for a solo laner in my opinion, it would have to give a gigantic shield (op level) to be viable, and that is not the way to go

I want a Garen type champ, simple but efficient

Austrianwaffle1 votes

Thresh's lantern can also create deadly ganks and even when there isn't a teammate to gank with, Thresh can use the lantern to create a possible threat of a gank, zoning the enemy for the duration of the lantern. I also feel that Thresh's autoattacks are vastly underrated; they have decent range and massive early game damage.

Besides, we were talking about the viability of supports in solo lanes in general, not just about Thresh. Personally, I love playing Anivia midlane as she controls all movement throughout the rift and punishes anyone who tries to cross lane or jungle.

I was talking about Tamm having a lantern like ability when he is most likely (I hope) a top laner, and that it wouldn't fit a top laner to have a purely team ability, given top lane being an island

Cho' Gath rework?

gruntkiller22 votes

nah this looks like an entirely new champion all together.....but if you think about it they released ekko not that long at all..........hmmmmmm

DrCyanide2 votes

It has happened before. Gnar and Azir, as well as Kalista and Rek'Sai were released one month apart from each other.

HGC ShadowKeeper2 votes

Well, back in the olden times (season 2) they would quite often release 2 champions a month, and with 2 skins. Now a days, its 1 champ every couple of months with only 1 skin. =[
