Like I would really like to know the reasoning behind this, why do I have to pay 1700 IP, to get a champion shard, destroy it into essence , then buy a few more champion shards, do the same thing, just so I can get mastery Lvl's 6 and 7.
I can not think of one good reason as to why do this, other then to be annoying. Like what does purchasing things with IP having ANYTHING to do with skill?

That's your "one good reason". And most likely why Riot did it.
Guy Fox Teemo1 votesBut thats a useless reason? Maybe if they did it for like Super Expensive Exclusive Icons or some other cosmetic that would cost a lot, but this seems like a COMPLETE waste, it would be the same as them just deleting IP.
They could have 100% done the system without having to have to earn essence, and you would still have the IP, there is no reason for it other then dumping your IP. Which seems like a complete waste, for the amount of hours it took to earn it all.
