FFXIV... is it actually fun?

It's one of the highest (if not THE highest) rated MMOs out there. People swear up and down saying it's an incredibly fun game. I love the art style, I love the atmosphere, I love the music, I love the crafting, everything. Just one thing bothers me, and that's the combat. Very simplistic, INCREDIBLY slow, very repetitive. People tell me that the combat gets a lot better after 50, and it's not slow at all -- some even going so far as to say it's faster than other MMOs.

... but how much of that is true? I need an MMO or something to play that I actually enjoy, and since WoW is kind of braindead now, I can't really enjoy it. GW2 is incredibly fun, but there's just nothing to do, and no progression, so everything feels like a pointless grind.

Is FFXIV actually enjoyable (combat-wise) later into the game?

It's super fun, mostly late game. Early game is eh eh, except it's actually reasonable unlike some MMO's that wont be named coughwowcough

I mean, I had fun leveling alts in WoW. 1-40ish was boring, but once you hit BC area, things really picked up... I just realized that WoW is boring until the expansion, just like FFXIV supposedly is. xD

How's the raiding in FFXIV though? The mechanics any fun to play around?

the raiding is so much cleaner, things aren't clunky like wow, they don't just glitch out or spazz. Honestly if you listen to the story FF14 is way better to level than wow the lore actually makes sense it's a really great game. oh BUT WAIT THERES MORE! THE COMMUNITY IS LITERALLY ANTITOXIC, I swear to god if you run into one person who doesn't try to help you or be nice as possible I will give you my league account for free not really but I swear the people in that game.... they just go above and beyond to be nice and help new players

I'd say the end game is harder than most of wow's end game arguably, mythic and the ff14 counterpart to mythic are about the same difficulty but id lean towards ff being harder, and lfr doesn't exist technically as a difficulty so its just reg and hardmode u can still search partys tho in the lfr sense

Does the combat pick up later on in the game? 'cause the highest I've ever gotten was 35ish on a Monk, and it was just 1>5>3>1>2>3>1>2>3>1>5>3>1>2>3>1>2>3>1>5>3>...

ability wise? yeah they start filling up a lot more when you unlock subclasses, paladin ect.

Then there is me, sitting in AUS with a shit PC but still want to play a reasonably new and polished MMORPGs while getting beaten down by high pings + graphics gating (and the conversion rate on say, Steam or something), because god forbid I actually get one to play.

Life is great.

At least League is there to catch me, but come on.

the graphics are kinda clunk, I have like 700 dollars in my build and can still run ultra for the game, you should have no troubles with a bestbuy or walmart pc if you're on low settings, never hurts to try games free til level 30 or something like that. As far as aus, I believe there's servers for them

Forgot to mention, I only own a laptop. So most of these games when tried, it feels like my rig is gonna melt. No good, but it's not like I have much options. Tsk.
