I you ever feel like taking Azir as an ADC...

Please, do not get AP items. Try to get as much AS as possible. Critical is also great since he will be AA a lot.

From playing Teemo and Kennen, I've learned that a typical way to do this is to start with some early AS.

Azir already gets bonus AS for CD reductions. If you get item 3142 you already gain a lot of AS + AD. You basically need only 3 items to get automatically to 2.5 AS. That's item 3087 then item 3142 then item 3172 or you can get some early lifesteal by getting item 3153. Any of these are fine for a ADC Azir.

When laning, do not (I repeat, DO NOT) waist mana on your soldiers for the extra damage on minions. Though the AS is the same for them, they may deal less damage than just normal auto attacks. Also, things like lifesteal and such do not work with them. Think of Azir like Twitch. You have abilities that can change the corse of battle but you mostly rely on your auto attacks to finish a job. You can use them if you feel like it. You should use them to initiate. But don't waist the mana. You may want to use the abilities for ganks and such.

Now, why would I even say this since Azir is a primary mage. There are those who will be curious enough to try this. If anything, I would practice first with Kennen ADC before I go to Azir.

AD Azir would be terrible. He'd gimp himself every time he put a soldier down. You could literally just stand on his soldiers so he couldn't attack you with his AD bonus, which means the only reason he'd use them is to escape, leaving his Ult as the only beneficial ability and regular auto-attacks.

I was thinking that perhaps on-hit Azir might be workable, but a little digging tells me that his soldiers don't apply on-hit effects.

So, yeah. There's literally no reason to do Azir AD.

Nope, they apply things like Luden's and Rylai's because they work on spell hit, but not Nashor's bonus damage. They replace the basic attack but act like an AoE spell in all ways (except killing wards. For some reason they can do that)

They also proc Furor's for some reason (according to the wiki). Weirdness abounds.

Single target spells also proc Furor. Viktor's Q can proc it.

Sand soldier attacks are supposed to count as AoE, which is why it's weird.

I thought about that, and I bet they're coded the same way Cho'gath's E, and I bet that still lets him get Furor. In both cases, it's probably a single target attack with some sperate component tact on to the end that isn't picked up.

There are bad ideas, and then there's this.

Azir's soldiers do NOT scale with AD, you know, his main kit component.

AD Azir is troll plain and simple.

MLDzXnRRR1 votes

IF he had 25 more range and ad scaling on his soldiers, he would be viable adc...

Drunk Rummate1 votes

Can't tell if OP is trolling or legitimately doesn't understand how Azir's kit works.

Everybody is confused by how the Sand Soldiers work at first.

This post proves you should never talk about game balance or systems.
