Thanks Riot for punishing me for doing the right thing.

In champ select me(bard) and diana(mid) lock in. Seems all is fine.

Next we have a teemo instalock and say he's going mid. Then we have a kayle instalock and say mid.

Nice to know I get to lose 5 LP(May not seem like a lot but it's still something) and get a time delay on my que for not involving myself with trolls.

Glad to see your system is working as intended, I can only dream of the wonderful things you'll do for us next.

This again? You know the penalty for dodging, yet you do it because you think it's worth it. Did you even see if the Teemo or Kayle would go top or jungle? You aren't a victim, you're a crybaby.

That team comp is insta-loss if the other team had meta picks.

Edit: I take it back, that team comp is insta-loss regardless of enemy team comp.

Me and Diana picked before both of them. Both of them wanted mid and got salty over it so they instalocked and called mid. I waited until 2 seconds on the timer (after asking them not to troll) then dodged because I didn't want to be stuck in a game where we have 3 mid no adc or top.

If you think people BLATANTLY trolling and someone not wanting to deal with it thus dodging and being pissed that said person has to get punished for OTHERS ignorance while they get off scot free is being a "crybaby" then it's obvious you're one of those people ruining this community

You should've included that info in the first place, because what you wrote didn't suggest they were trolling at all. You still don't know if they were really going to fight over mid in the game; I have had plenty of games where 2 called one role, but when the game started they split up normally and there was no issue. You judged them for trolling before they even did.

According to you, first his happened:

{quoted}

In champ select me(bard) and diana(mid) lock in.

And then this happens:

Next we have a teemo instalock and say he's going mid. Then we have a kayle instalock and say mid.

So you locked in before them, but still blame them.

Why not wait until you see what other players are picking and make sure that your pick works with that? Not just because other players may do what they did; but what about team comp? What if everyone else starts picking and then you realize that you could be better with a different Champion.

In any case, dodging is dodging. That team comp could work fine; literally all three of those champs can top/mid/jungle.

I agree with you man. The OP should have waited to see where everyone else wanted to go, then talk with them and see if anyone was willing to play another roll. Atleast that's what I do.

Honestly I don't understand the reason behind making Locking In so final. Why not just have a "Ready/Not Ready" system, for exactly these situations.

Embertine2 votes

Well that's what the lock in was originally for back before there was a true competative rank system. Originally it was basically the same thing as playing in normals. Everyone picked their champions, discussed where they wanted to go, then clicked lock in, to finally everything. However it just doesn't work for ranked, especially nowadays.

So yeah I agree with you there too. Riot needs to make it so you can do a ready/not ready thing instead. I myself have accidentally locked in the wrong champion before, and really could have used a undo button.

Copy pasta from me replying to someone else

Well it would have been better if you had included that in your original post.

So, by your logic, everyone should wait to see what champs everyone else picks and then fill accordingly? Well, if everyone did that, no one would be picking champs then no one would be playing the game. Then the game would die because, no one is playing games, because no one is picking champs because no one wants to butt hurt other people by picking what they want to play. Sir, you are wrong in this statement. Torasuto was justified in doing what he did because he didn't want to play with jack asses and end up having to listen to all the moaning and groaning all game, because the Teemo and Kayle were butt hurt, 'cause they didn't get mid. Trasuto was the victem in this circumstance (as was the Diana). I don't mean any offense in the comment. Just saying your logic is flawed.

With the way the system is placed which I'm sure a lot of people by now understand, because you dodged it seems like you are in the wrong, you never know if the people playing those champs are really good with them, and because you can't report them if they are really trolling they'll get a free pass because you dodged and they'll jump into the next game fast continuing the process!

Nothing wrong with everyone going mid, you can usually get 2 towers before top/bot have lost 1/2 hp.

I can understand where you are coming from however you need to think about this.

  1. Its not riots fault they got salty and all picked mid.
  2. You could have just played the game. You might have even won.
  3. If they removed a penalty for dodging people would dodge all the time just because they did not get their role or something like that.
  4. Its still not riots fault you dodged.
  5. You and the others are not possessed by riot and are capable of making decisions however bad those decisions may be.

They really need to allow you to leave in select. It may cause trolls to start delaying start times on games... but I would rather have that than have to make decisions about losing LP for choosing not to play with horrible team comps / trolls what not. A ranking system that slows progression for something that has nothing to do with the game is not one that properly judges talent at the game. As far as solo queue goes, this is why you have people who are absolutely horrible and don't even understand things like... idk.. how to farm under turret (just an example of a basic mechanic) who sit in gold, while you have players who do really well and perform well enough to play in a gold / plat team sit in bronze due. Its far to grindy in the lower elo's for solo queue. Simple flat... win / loss you gain or lose everything... lp, mmr, everything. That forces you to rely on strangers who may or may not give a damn. I understand losing LP, but when you take a dozen objectives for your team, you die like twice and only because it resulted in gaining an objective, and participate in 90% of the kills... and you do this consistently... nearly every game... even when your team fed their team to oblivion. It should not lower your MMR. There should be an algorithm that takes in to account personal performance. Which I understand would be hard to make, but it is the only way you could make solo queue entirely fair and truly accurate. Because the way it is now, match making does not match you appropriately. You'll have maybe two decent players, then 3 crap players on a team, vs maybe 3 decent, and 2 crap. Maybe 1/20 games... if that do I have a game where is 5 players of similar ability... vs 5 players of the same ability. It RARELY RARELY happens. Its always one sided. You HAVE to rework your solo queue. Its probably 95% of your player base and you just build your game around the LCS.

In conclusion.... I don't mind the LP loss, I mind the MMR loss. Because that makes good players have to play a hundred extra hours just to advance because of other peoples mistakes / trolls / anger / inexperience... what not. Yes, I make mistakes, everyone does, not saying I'm perfect, but I am good. I don't enjoy playing with or against horrible players. I nearly always steam roll my lane in my current elo. I'm tired of it. I want a challenge that doesnt involve fighting against 2 ridiculously fed lanes. I want to have 5 good players, play against 5 good players... so I can actually say "GG, wp" at a loss and genuinely mean it. I haven't lost a game in probably a month where it wasn't do to someone / someones being outrageously fed in a complete Frelo game for them.

I find people who can't find their own play style and need to follow the masses are the true trolls. Anyone who tells another to stop attacking the minions really needs to piss off since you all have equal rights to those little guys.
